Well, I could give a few good examples of basic errors otherwise very smart botdevs have made but it's prob better not to put them out here publicly.

You'd hope that Stars' bot detection software is good enough that anyone using a bot which took very similar amounts of time consistently would be caught within a day or two.

Randomizing is easy alright. It's not necessarily easy to do so in a manner that is consistent with the time actual humans need when making a decision.

(But I guess it should however be easy enough to correlate the range of outcomes of your randomizing function with the size of the pot though, so what I'm saying is basically irrelevant.)
