On this page alone I recoginize him and Smoking Dough, and I'm pretty sure I may have played a bit with you as well. I've only played 12k hands at 25nl though, fwiw.

Short version:

There were two games available.

3/6 limit with 7/10 crusty old regulars was running from 1:00PM to 2 or 3AM. There wasn't ever a chance to play poker....'cause you always got called. Raise PF....6 callers. AK was a BAD hand to have (as it seemed to never hit a flop for me). But it was silly easy because only one or two would ever raise. Best hand was against two nonbelievers when I turned the nut boat. I made a mistake by being too anxious and blew out the guy to my immediate right by jumping the gun with my reraise. Worse was that I played too loose at times and just spewed chips six at a time.

I also made a tactical error on my second night. I was asked to help start a 3/6 table and as luck would have it, I had a luckbox half-drunk kid sitting to my immediate right. He hit against everyone else but me . This lasted about 45 minutes before a seat at the 1/2-200 opened up....AND I MOVED. Stupid Stupid Stupid. Table selection is so key...I knew it, yet chose to ignore. Damn.

The other game was a spread 1/2-200..... meaning the blinds were $1/$2 and you can bet anything up to $200 with 2 raises. Essentially no-limit as none of them ever started with more than $200.00. But because the blinds were sooooooooooo small, noone played past the flop.....lots of checkdowns. I think two of the players had a clue...the rest were fit/fold, but always slightly out of range. Best hand was flopping TPTK (AQ) and the nut FD. Bet 3/4 pot and get one. Bet 3/4 pot on a blank turn and he minraises. I smoothly (last day so I was much more relaxed) pushed into his 1/2 POT-sized stack and he folds LOL! Problem was that this game only really got going at about 10PM and I had early basketball games so I rarely played which was too bad since NL is clearly my better game.

All in all a gentle introduction to live play. Had a friendly time and I think everyone there was in it for the social aspect and never seemed to collude...especially at the 3/6 tables. There were a few times I shook my head at the 1/2-200, but it didn't really hurt me I guess. I think I played a total 17 hours and had most of the dealers calling me by my first name by the end. A coupla the players actually got up from the table when I was leaving for the last time and came over to shake my hand.... ( I wasn't the fish,,,I think). Get up from the table???? Unthinkable. LOL. Good times.

Nice play, it was a super big 4-bet you made, I had AdQd and you were the PFR so I couldn't really do anything but muck it. I'm sure I'll see you around, watch out for the Schrute!

lol, I played quite a bit with Krooky in March and Feb I guess. He was super passive, 15/5 pre and almost no postflop aggression at all.
Think he sat down HU for 200bb quite a lot when I started deep tables.

I agree that krooky is a pretty straight fwd player. I had more difficult playing against the other two esp Kpoker. Vlshrgo was spewy vs me too.
Where Kpoker was real aggressive and tricky to play against. I think he's more LAG
lol, imo both of these guys lurk here. They were both playing back at me like crazy today, doubtless because they were irked that I posted my reads on them, and trying to play counter to my reads.

xkpokerx raised at least 75% of my steals today. he got the best of me doing it, but not by a lot, i think. anyway, gg, xkpokerx, lol.

xkrookyx made some insane check raise that slowed me down with tpgk or so and we got to showdown and he had basically air or third pair or something. couple of other spots that weren't memorable enough to call to mind off the top of my head.

But i can't imagine that it is a coincidence that I posted my reads about these two and then the next time I see them at the tables they are coming after me.

LOL. Krooky spews a lot with insane check raises. You could say it is his signature style.

I would say the more tables you play the more importand it is to use a HUD. Hard to keep track of how others play when you have like 8 others to watch.

Not sure but if I would guess, I'd say around 1500-2000. Probably closer to the 2k mark.

this is how I've started treating my HUD

I went through a phase of not using it at all, which I thought was good except it sometimes took me a while to notice a table going bad
07-03-2009 , 10:59 AM
you guys think the action is better at double stack tables? Haven't really tried playing there too much, but it seems like there is more regs that sit down here.
07-03-2009 , 11:12 AM
Deep stack tables are generally full of nits/regs and not worth playing. A freshly filled deep-stack table can be full of fish with big stacks though.
07-03-2009 , 11:16 AM
start them. free money.
