I agree that it is exploitable in theory.

In practice, it does not get exploited (often enough to stop). I show a profit on my light 4 bets (high variance, but an ok winrate--200bb/100) and I come close to breaking even (-70bb/100, which is about 275bb/100 better than raising and folding) when I flat a c-bet (and I show a profit when I flat c-bets in position).

Calling and 4 betting as much as I do is itself an adjustment to the fact that at $50, players "know" they are supposed to 3 bet steals, but are generally pretty lost when they get called and brick the flop or when they get 4 bet and they are not holding a premium.

This strategy seems to be a failing strategy at $100 at FT, but seems to be preferable to folding at Stars, but my sample is too small to have a firm opinion, and I am, therefore, still evaluating and experimenting.

Is it normal for someone that has been playing online for a year to still be constantly experimenting with things? I can't help myslef, like even if I think a play is -EV I'll still do it sometimes just to see.... then make adjustments and rinse repeat. I kinda think this is a good thing long term for me but short term is probably killing me and letting me spew some what.

I think it is normal, but that is maybe because I do it.

the reality is the games are evolving steadily, and you have to change your game to keep a steady win rate. You don't know whether the adjustments you make are good ones or not, so whatever adjustment that is, is an experiment until you have a decently reliable sample.

This is how I started calling so many 3 bets. I saw that I had a good win rate, so I said, ldo, add a few hands/situations to your range. I did, it didn't affect my win rate, so i added more and more until I started to see a loss, and then I backed off to the last adjustment, and there I stay.

Plus, you are always looking for leaks in your game (I hope) and when you find one, you play that situation differently, and that is also an experiment until you know whether it is working.

Finally, hopefully you are moving up stakes, and every increase in stakes requires at least a few small adjustments--more experimentation.

So, yeah, I'd say it is normal if your goal is to improve and move up. If your goal is to grind at your current stakes, then I'd say you could just find a profitable strategy and grind it forever, or until the games pass you by.

specificly struggle with this situation. Mainly I think it is because of the diverse player pool I am playing with. Having to keep up with 9 players at 16 different tables is redic. Been trying to cut back on tables to 10-12 and is so much better.

Please don't say that the games will pass me by

FTP is awesome! The best place to play if you're a full time pro!!! I mean there is 27% rakeback!!!! Pokerstars doesn't give any rakeback!!!!!!!!!!!!!
