My biggest issue and what is really causing me to play bad and press is that this run has been since last Sept. The actual number of months for me has been the hardest thing to deal with. In fact after getting face slammed with coolers this past weekend I was about ready to just pull out most of my roll and go back to playing the penny tables. So what do you do?

1. Keep sloggin and play more to get through it faster.

I can't play a ton of hands every month because I'm not willing to uspet other areas of my life (Family, work, etc...) to play enough hands to pull out of a bad run quickly.

I also know that I tilt and so forcing myself to play more is not a good Idea. I become a calling station falling for the old "I can't possibly be beat again, and of course I am." at times.

2. Take time off and try to recoup.

I do this through my schedule. I only play 15 days a month. Just enough to make Bronze Iron man. This is also due to the fact that I just am not willing to carve out more time for poker.

3. Reevaluate your game. Talk to others, sweat sessions.

This, for me, is the best way to go about getting through a downswing. I've never been one to completely blame a downswing at the stakes I play on variance. I know I have too many leaks. Going back over my hands during this swing, if I'm honest with myself, I should probably be within a couple buy ins of breakeven. There is atleast a couple times each month that I could have saved between 60 to 80bbs by folding when I probably should have. No glory in folding right?

This is why constantly reviewing your game is so necessary. This does more for me though when I'm going through a downswing. It gives me something I can actively work on that will improve my game. It gives me a reason to want to play. Cause realistically, even though I dropped 5 buy ins this past weekend, my actual play, with the exception of probably one hand was better than it has been. So I was happy about that! Wat? Well at least after I calmed down a bit.

Anyway. Poker is a game of discoveries. I always discover more about my game when I hit a rough patch. The problem is, you need to find out what works best for you, cause we all handling things differently.

Good luck and don't let the bad beats get you down
Thanks Cap. Yeah, I got a lot of leaks in my game. I think I'm gonna be playing lower limits til I get my confidence back...

On a side note, is anyone playing in the WSOP 1k buy-in, event #4? It's getTING CLOSE!!! I'll be up there playing on Sunday. Just want to know if any FTP micro regs, or non regs, are gonna be playing? Hopefully my coolers switch to heaters while I'm playing this event!

25NL--Anyone have any reads on caseace21? I have him at 14/12/inf. over about 230 hands with a 44% ATS. I played back at him by check-raising his c-bets after he tried to steal, and the 2nd time he re-raised me. Only saw him go to showdown twice, once with KK and once with 22.

Also, anyone have anything on Hedonists? He ran 75/48/3 and was winning, but only over 40 hands. He was in a shouting match with a 15/8 who hated that he was raising all the time, but the only hands I saw him showdown were AKo, AQ, and Q8o.

caseace21 : 14.8 / 13.1 / 6.38 / steal pct : 44.1 / 3bet 4.3 / FT 3b 85% / CB 71% / FTCB 68% / over 5248 hands.

Hedonists : 19.2 / 9.7 / streal pct 25.3 / 3bet 1.7 / CB 59 / FTCB 50 / over 703 hands.

Hope it helps you

Hello, everyone! If you frequent the 25NL tables you might see me. I've been trying out shortstacking lately (no roll atm) and having a good 'ol time at Tilt. If you see me say hi and try not to stack me plz.

Does anyone else use the FT academy tasks to get free points? Kind of LOL that you get points for doing super standard stuff.

Stars should treat their low level grinders with some sort of program as well. (partial FPP's or something)

Nope.

My avatar is a resemblance of my wife. One of her many nicknames I have for her is Moe and since she is busto, BustoMoe.

My avatar is the closest female avatar that resembles her that I could find so no Im not the turtle. I like to look for the fun in everything that I do.

I keep doing them, was doing the Chris Ferguson bankroll one and the only thing I have left is to increase my bankroll 25%. Went on a 7 buy in swong. Rigged, imo.

Well, we'll see if they are worth is when they finally get the store up and running. I have a feeling it's going to take a bajillion points to get a hat, let alone anything good.

If I could make in rakeback at Stars what I do at FTP, I would probably play there. I don't play a million hands a month though.

I guess the store is almost ready to open. The internet gambling forum had this post RE:academy goodies.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...ed-yet-485724/

5k academy points for 5k FT points was the one I noticed.
