Exactly... worst part is I know that pretty well, but sometimes I forget in the heat of the moment. Luckily not too often these days but I'd like to get it as close to 0 as possible.

I think some other post it's should include:

"They're not playing back at you"
"That turn checkraise is probably not a bluff"
etc....

TPTK is not the nuts, but on certain boards against certain villains I am comfortable playing a large pot with.

Just remember if you raise PF, almost all villains have AK in your range......

Another from my experience is "At .05/.10 level, your opponent will not hesitate to call your raise with any 2 crappy cards"

QFT. I guess as a rule of thumb even the most brain dead villains will put you on AK.

How loose does a villain have to be to make you comfy playing a big pot with TPTK or top 2. Let's say rainbow flop. I'm at work so I don't have a HH right now, but last night I felt like a noob again cause I let myself get stacked w/AK on a AK9 rainbow flop. Let my brain shut off really but when I was thinking about the hand after there isn't much a competent villain raises with there in a 3 bet pot that isn't a set. A call committed me so I just shipped it, but looking back it was spew in that hand that for sure. Right now I'm just trying to decide where the general divide is between shipping and folding when I don't have a solid read and I'm going off stats alone.

Even at 10 that's still really villain dependent.

I am more likely to get it in with TPTK on a coordinated board than a dry board if I know "will stack off chasing draws", depending on what the TPTK is, and betting action. Two pair hands are tough, If I know villain will stack off with TP or an overpair and those are in his range, then I play two pair hands fast. But if they are nittish or tricky, I may look at only getting two streets, or only one street if the board is nasty.

I wouldn't beat yourself up too badly on this one. I think that would be a tough laydown for anyone to make. Obviously, it would be situationally dependent, but I don't see too many players capable of laying that down. I'd be curious to see the HH though (bet sizing, etc).

Think about it this way, what if it was reverse and you stacked off to AK on an AKxr board to the PFR that fired at it? You would need a really good reason to do it right? Either it was a bluff, or you know that the villain couldn't lay down AQ, or JJ here ore something like that.

Yeah, maybe I'll get it out tonight after work. I needed to get to bed so I haven't really looked at whether I was truly committed or not and if I like the bet sizing. Although now I have already spoiled the results but I guess we can still use it as an example for this discussion. Villain was something like 19/9 ish if I remember. Not nitty enough to make it an easy fold and not loose enough to make it an easy felt...

Exactly! It's definitely entirely read dependent so in some cases these hands are pretty easy. Against a middle of the road villain I was a little more confused.

I also agree with your comment above. On a coordinated board it's a little easier to stack off b/c then you can add a bunch of draws to their range if they are aggressive.

I completely agree. Totally dependent on the read and whatever info you had on the villain over the course of the session. It's unquestionably a tough spot which I think would make it that much tougher to lay down. I'm pretty certain that I'm going to stack off in that situation if I'm up against the set

No....I can PM screenname...we actually have a good amount of history. One day in particular I'm sure you'll remember. After us playing back at each other several times on different tables, I think you won 3 AI coin flips against me in like 5 minutes.

QUADS and IBTF are the two regs we've discuss the most, except the handfull of maniac short stackers that seem to just play randomly.

Yeah.....but the difference is I actually have nothing against Quads (other than him running ridiculously well against me ). Oh how I miss IBTF......free coaching for everyone at the table as he plays.......bad coaching....but what do you expect for free?

It's killing me but I can't remember the one SS that owned 50NL for the longest time. It was before I moved to PS....so January-June timeframe. The last time I talked to him he was moving up to 100NL. It wasn't FredBadBeat....but I remember him being one of the few and only good SS as well.
