10/9 is as far from optimal as 30/15 is at 50NL. 10/9's are simply nits and I give them zero action 90% of the time. Unless they're weak-tights. Then I abuse them.

But this is all assuming the person is a real man who plays actual poker, and not a shortstacker

Dear El Nino 1,

Please stop table-coaching and yelling at the fish every time they make bad plays. Oh and please PLEASE for the love of god stop talking about PT/HEM stats at the tables.

Yours Truly,

I'm like 13/10 and I'm such a nit, when I see people with like 9/6 I can't imagine how little hands they must play. Well I can imagine it really, but it's super tight.

Do you shorties realize that you're ruining the game? Stop buying in short and I'll stop slowrolling.

Perhaps not a 9/6 but a 10/8 plays pretty much like a 13/10 in EP.

What they are not doing is opening up their game in LP.

I think mass tabling encourages tighter play. Games would be so much better if sites set a table limit of 4.

Boo this. Players who are mass tabling are better players and will play better the less tables they play.

Go play at Bodog if you want a 4-table limit.

Or get bored and spew

I play in juicy games all the time at FTP, no need to leave. Doesn't change what I said above though.

You are giving the majority of shorties too much credit. Bad shorties dont shove and fold. They are just bad. Easy money.

yo I'm getting raped at NL25, lol -4 buyin sessions with 22% wtsd, 44% w$sd and 60% average all in equity.

Funnily enough some of the regs there are the one I used to play with at NL5 when I first started (moved back from PS yesterday) like xxxAZ235xxx and xxxCountingxxCowsxx, good news is I used to kill them.

Arrow Loyalty program foobar

Just want to share some calcs I did on the value of FT's loyalty program (*). Graphs show effective RB% over FT points earned per day (over 30 days played within the same month).

High res for low volume players:

Low res for high volume players:

(*)
In order to do those calcs I needed to put in some values including empirical data. Here's what I used:

Additional notes:
  • Point and medal value numbers take rakeback hits into account already. The medal value is derived from the $600 bonus. It's less if you buy a smaller bonus.
  • The empirical stuff is from my own samples. I'm wondering how much those numbers depend on playing style, but think they don't vary much between most styles.
  • I didn't include Bonus Medals, but the difference should be small to negligible.
  • The first peak in the graphs is when you hit Silver, second one is Gold, third one is Iron. There's no Bronze because with 30 days played at 50 points/day you hit Silver already. Other peaks correspond to releases of Plus Medals.
  • Calcs include mid year/end year boni.
  • It's pretty obvious that the effective RB% will be highest if you hit a new level almost exactly and don't play more hands after you hit.
  • For high FTPs/day rates (by playing high volume and/or higher stakes) the effective RB% decreases to a value only slightly above 27%. That's when you might think about making the move to another site and go for a high VIP level there.
  • Playing for Plus Medals won't help.
  • No guarantee all the stuff is correct ...

I only did 25NL FR, 25NL 6m, 50NL FR because I don't have enough data on other limits/games/blabla. If you're willing to share your numbers, PM them to me (I need MGR/hand and points/hand OR MGR/point). Please include limit/structure/game etc and your VPIP/PFR if you don't mind.

edit by mpethy: op asked me to remove the images; he is going to replace them on 04/11 or so

Last edited by mpethybridge; 04-10-2009 at 07:06 PM. Reason: changed graphs so they show horizontal grid lines
