So, I am letting a NL25 guy watch me play tomorrow and he wants me to record the video/audio for him. I downloaded CamStudio and my voice comes in completely clear and normal volume, but his is super quiet and it's really hard to hear. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Or is there another freeware program I can use to capture screen + audio?

actually i'll reword this. I just think it's interesting when everyone at the micro stakes preaches to have a small gap in your vpip/pfr when a lot of mid stakes regs say they would actually open up their gap and call a ton of marginal stuff in position.

Does anyone ever run so good, that it is almost depressing? Like you worry that if it weren't for your rungood, you would be a losing player? I'm kinda in that boat now. I am like $600 above EV this week, and if I were running at EV I would be pretty close to breakeven. I seriously fear the day when I am $600 below EV.

I don't know. My lifetime sample at $100 at Stars is still too small to base conclusions on. I feel like they play differently, but one is not necessarily harder than the other. Stars plays nittier postflop, but I think it is more aggro preflop.

I just think they need to be played differently. I will say that I usually feel like stars feels easier to me because, in general, you can have more trust in the post flop aggression you face.

I was lagtarding it up because I was running good the past few weeks. After an unacceptable 7BI loss two nights ago, I've rededicated myself to playing TAG instead of LAG. I've gone from ~21/15 in my previous 30k hands to my old 16/12 for the most recent 5k hands. Best part? Villain's haven't adjusted to my adjustment.

Oh, had to play some non deep tables the past couple of days. I feel secure and comfortable calling opens 4x or 5x with a full range at 200BB. But man at 100BB it just doesn't seem worth it to speculate with the J9sootes. The addition of the non-deeps in my tile is definitely helping me nit up.
Yeah, last night on stars I realized that my table selection criteria were keeping me at 11/9. I mean, on FTP, I select fewest short stacks/highest vpip/biggest pot, without regard to whether they are 100 or 200bb. These selection criteria encourage an uber tight style; it may not be optimal, but it works.

whereas when I was on stars last night and all they had playing 50 bb deep were tables with a max vpip of 17%, i realized that you could steal a lot of blinds by raising really light first in. It was sort of an epiphany--one of the main reasons I play 11/9 at FTP is because I am selecting for tables where somebody else is usually raising.

damn, that's nice. I've only played 150k hands but I've never been 1 buy in above EV.

I wait list myself on all the deep tables, and if there aren't enough to 15-table, I wait list myself on standard tables. I take any deep table regardless of who is at the table and where. If the standard table pops up, I sit as long as 2 or less have <25BB, and everyone else is 80BB+. I don't adhere too strict to the 80BB thing, but I just want there to be stacks worth playing against.

I used to like SpadeEyeLite, but haven't been able to configure the latest version for some reason. All I really used it for was to hide tables with 3+shorties.

Since early November, 100NL has had 15+ deeps virtually 24/7. I cannot attest to the status of the other stakes.

I started at least five quarter tables today. Generally I'll run a scanner and check for my buddies and get on those lists, then open an empty and wait. Once that table begins to take shape, I'll open another and wait. I'm not a good player and have no experience in HU play so 25NL is a good place to start.

Feels like they get fewer and fewer, takes longer to start tables too. A couple of months ago at 25NL the tables would fill up instantly, today not so fast

Edit: I'm always up for starting deep tables, we don't have to go crazy before anyone else joins if you don't feel comfy HU. Just shoot me a PM if I'm online.

Finally booked a couple winning sessions at 10NL, starting to build the bankroll back, still nowhere close to what it was though. Hopefully I don't decide to tank it this time around.

I am confused about that a bit, too.

I think 19:00 EST - 03:00 EST is a really good time slot and the tables are pretty juciy. But since this time slot is 01 AM - 09 AM for me I can not rly play at this time.

Oh and I am up for starting deep tbls at the quarters anytime, too.

I'm about $600 down in EV last week. BRM FTW.

I never had a problem finding/starting 16 tables at 25nl deep when I played there a couple months ago.

All of them, actually. People have been catching insane hands at the same time I do on several occassions. Definitely bad play. Perhaps a little too much OOP. Some not folding when I should be folding. Some getting into big pots with hands that don't warrant it. Part of that is tilt induced with the upped aggression. Part of that is that perhaps I'm a little too zealous with trying to snap bluffs.

I'll make the final decision when I actually play, but I'm reconsidering whether to move down. I'm actually still rolled to play 25NL. I'm not sure whether I'll really get any value out of moving down. Some of my bigger losses were definitely avoidable.

We'll see. I think I'll stick around at the quarters, though. I figure at least the runbad part has to improve, right?
