Yeah.

$5 on level account from Kurt...takers?
12-04-2009 , 05:03 AM
Not kurtSF.

If it's a level account (as was snugglez), the original 2+2er needs permaban too. (I am hoping for some young, pimply noob that thinks he's mature)

We don't need crap like this. It's a clear sign of immaturity.

I vote for Trapz

Tablescan turbo is ruining my life. It's showing me all the fish that are out there while I should be getting some sleep.

Must...resist...urge...to play against a 45/30 fish seated at seven tables

In the summer I was playing 50nl, doing well, then completely destroyed my bankroll, possibly due to a withdrawl I needed at the time. I was down to about $70, then end of september I started playing again, got it to about $700 (including rakeback) playing 25nl near the end of november, then in about a week, I tanked it to $100...

I wouldn't encourage anybody to go pro for 50k a year really with no larger plan. But I'm working on growing a business and would direct more energy to that stuff, so poker wouldn't be the end game really. More like, I don't think I will be able to find a job anyway, so I might as well grind...

You weren't in the US were you? I can't remember. So is it a true furlough? They are going to call you back at some undetermined point in the future?
Yep, a US'er here! If the economy bounces back I should be called back to the railroad sometime next year. Unfortunately, there will be many that'll possibly never see the rail again. Not long after hiring out I went through the engineers program (6 mos) to qualify as a Locomotive Engineer. Still low on seniority but as some retire and business comes back, I'll be back running before my friends return.

There are some railroad benefits where I still get paid while off, but of course it isn't what I was making before getting the boot! It'd be great to supplement a 100NL BI+ a day!

Its like coming down to 50NL (that I hadn't played in a year in a half) made me enjoy poker all over again. I mean I know I'm not a superstar and have never had a crazy high winrate but coming down to 50NL really has made me feel like a superstar and I think it will give me just the mental boost I need to make it to the top.

Sorry for rambling, just some stuff I had on my mind.....
Jason, the reason I asked if you were still at 50NL was I hadn't seen you the last couple sessions. It's like your friend said, I like to sit on tables with better known players when possible. It has to certainly be -EV short term for me! But I only 6 table right now and watch hands you and others play closely in certain situations. I'll replay them and watch for bet sizing, lines, etc. Then maybe drop a PM sometimes if I have a question. I don't "rep" hands, 3 bet light or go for "thin value" either. Strictly educational for me. (So when I do bet into you, FOLD!!!! LOL)

Best wishes on your return rise!

What happens on these big downswings?

I wouldn't really consider withdrawing the money to use it for something destroying your bankroll.

Interesting. So I did engineering in school (nerds not trains). A few of my friends were at a strip club one night. My friend was getting a lapdance and the woman asked what he did. He said he was studying engineering. She said "OMG like the trains!? That's so cool." He just said "yes!" haha.

Sounds like everything will work out. If you don't absolutely need the poker monies it should be fun. It might get stressful if you desperately need to make money though.

What's the point of playing good players if you aren't going to spew?????

Ummmmm maybe I'm just rationalizing my session last night. Garfs to follow later.

I love when Trapz has an account banned, cause right now it just makes Jason looking like the raving town crazy, spewing to himself :P

They deleted the Rim job account also...I went to bed before I could see all his responses to me.

Yeah, it was weird trying to catch up in the thread, watching someone argue with himself.

does anyone know if there is a program which can preset my preflop raise size for FTP ie 3x bb or 4 x bb. If anyone knows of such a thing please link me to it or let me know, much appreciated. Thanks

I pretty much just lose every day for like a week, with the exception of the odd day, which makes a pretty depressing graph. I had to withdraw some for my credit card bill in the summer.

TableNinjaFT, it is a beta right now, but free.

I use TableNinjaFT. It's pretty solid, lags sometimes on my bet sizing so I've been known to open to 2bb QUITE often.

Used to use SpadeEye when it was legal on FT. Wasn't a big fan of HEM's Table Scanner beta when I tried it out. Has HEM's Table Scanner improved (or does anyone else use it regularly)?
12-04-2009 , 02:19 PM
SpadeEye Lite is still FTP legal.... free if you already paid for SE.

HEM's TS is written by the same guy.

I love playing the weekends, but its hard constantly saying no to friends who want to get together on Fri/Sat nights. Anyone with advice on how to manage the social life and common grinding nights?

Also, I watched the 1980 movie "Airplane!" a few nights ago. Its one of the few movies that get funnier over time, because of all the changes in commercial aviation and just changes in modern culture. A smoking section wasn't comedic back then, but its a pretty funny concept in now a days. I was laughing so hard during the movie that I missed enough jokes to warrant re-watching it. There were some racial & sex jokes that had me surprised as well.

1973: No smoking sections introduced on commercial flights
1979: Cigars/Pipes banned on planes
1989: Smoking on flights <6hrs was banned by the FAA
1998: No smoking on all domestic US flights

Last time I tried SpadeEye Lite, I was too frustrated in trying to get it set up with my new database. All I'd really use it for is to avoid tables with 2+ shorties. So if I pay for HEM's TS I'm paying the same guy twice. nh
