Sorry, bad joke.

The acronym stands for "(Are) you gay or something?" The joke was to insinuate that you don't like all the naked girl pictures (not that there's anything wrong with that) that get posted in the stars thread, intentionally missing the point that you were not talking about that but about the tone of conversation.

FWIW I read this thread at work and appreciate the lack of tert pics, or putting them in spoil tags.

There is a cynical business book out there called "The 48 laws of Power", in the book there is a section called "Despise the Free Lunch", not be wary of it, but despise it. Basically, all of these rewards programs (credit card, frequent traveler, Iron Man), are design to get you to modify your behavior to how THEY want you to act. I don't totally agree with the all of the points, but it is something to think about.

I have seen people change their flight dates, take longer flights, more connections, drive 100 miles to another airport, take more expensive flights, b/c of the airline miles. I also know a guy that flew from D.C. to NYC and back on December 28 (never left the airport), just to obtain the next level of status.

If I want to see girls, I'll just lurk on the PS thread.

The Asians don't do it for me, though. I like Asian girls, but not when they are all sexed up like in those pictures.

~7 months ago I purposely broke my IronMan consecutive months for just this reason. I felt the times I played poker was dictated to too great an extent by the FTP marketing department and not on what was good for me, and was negatively impacting my personal life in terms of spending QT with friends and family.

I now regret the decision as I am missing out on as much as $1500 of value, a fair ***** of change to a uNL4lyfe guy. On the other hand, I'm now winning again and enjoying poker, and who's to say that didn't have something to do with the life/poker balance I struck while avoiding the "free lunch"

I'm a cheap mofo, but there are certain things I've learned not to skimp on. Like icecream... the cooler at the grocery looks like Ben&Jerry's, HaagenDaas, and a bunch of other crap getting in my way. Its just not worth it spending $2 on icecream and I'd rather go without.

There's lots of things like that ime, and in the last few years air travel has gone into that group. I would do ANYTHING to save $12 off my ticket price. but at some point the airport hassle, schedule absurdities, and other annoyances just made me decide to get the ticket I want and screw the $12.

Oh, and TINSTAAFL.

Agreed, I think any picture, SFW or not should be put in spoilers if it's of an attractive female posing

Oh and Sammy, I kind of agree. The difference is that by playing more (in general) I will be making more money, so I should be happy for the FT Marketing Department making me play more.

In this specific example, being sick, I was probably -EV at the tables I was playing, but I can't imagine being -EV in very many situations, so yeah they're making me play more, but it's to my benefit in most cases.

Kurt, to meet my iron man req, i have to play ~400 hands of NL100, if I'm near a computer for more than 20 minutes idle during a day, that's enough to meet the req.

I'm not about to do something ridiculous like bring my laptop to Joshua Tree when we camp there this weekend just so I can keep my Ironman level, but in normal daily living it's pretty hard to not find 20 minutes to get the 200 points in

Why the heck are there HUGE waitlists at every table! I see a 21 person wait list at a 25NL table.

What level are you playing? Just take a lesson from it. They say most people bust their first deposit. Just try to protect your roll in the future.
