Appreciate the kind words.
Don't be too nitty with the move up. Time is money imo. I recommend being as aggressive as comfortable up to 50. Then start to get nittier as you move from 50 -> 100, because it definitely does get tougher. 25 should only be marginally harder than 10 if you table select carefully. When you get to $500, start mixing in 25. If you can mix limits, think about doing that as well. Toss in 1 25 table right now, and make the rest 10.

Just remember to play the same game. Don't level yourself into making moves.

Equus,,, aggressive bankrolls are OK.....if you have easy on/off access. In the US, it's getting tougher by the day to get money onto the sites.

That is a good point. Aggressive up and aggressive down ftw imo. I'm going to say the possibility is remote of getting stacked on 8 tables at exactly the same moment (oh god, did I just type that - cue doomswitch).

I think the best way is to have a strict plan. Actual numbers can be adjusted, but at the lower limits, I think it's definitely a good idea to mix in the next level as soon as you have 20 BI, but be very responsive to run bad.

DDAWD is a grad student... the sooner he gets to 50 the better imo. 50nl would have been fairly meaningful money to me when I was in grad school.

When I first started this whole poker adventure, my plan was to be very strict with the 25BI to move up and drop down when I drop below 20BI. But I was pretty naive at the time and didn't realize that the 5BI cushion wasn't much of a cushion at all. By those rules, I'd be moving up to 25NL when I reached $625. But I think I'll relax that a bit. I've been doing well at 10NL, so I might just take the shot at $500 and give myself like 8-10BI before I move back down. When I first made the move to 5 and 10NL, I was getting coolered like mad. Hopefully that won't happen this time, at least not from the start. I've also made major adjustments to my game to keep from polarizing opponents and protect myself from coolers.

We'll see. I had a 9.5BI profit on Sunday so perhaps I could get that last $100 this holiday weekend. My goal was to become proficient at 25NL by the end of this year. I think I can get there. My major hurdle was to learn how to deal with increased aggression by the opponents at 10NL. It was something that used to tilt me quite a bit and would cause me to do stupid things like steam off my stack with TPTK. I've gotten a LOT better with that. We'll see what hurdles 25NL brings me.

I don't think there are a lot of differences. Some of the regs are smarter is about it. Maybe that people fold to 3b less? I have few hands there so I couldn't really go on any further

I definitely feel that I'm +EV there, but i'm not mentally disconnected from the $$$ enough yet, nor am I really rolled to be taking extended shots

When I moved up to 5NL, I was pretty much willing to go broke at that level. Or at least go down to the $20 that I had started with. When I ran bad at 10NL, I had to move back down once to reload my roll at 5NL. Fortunately, my second shot at dimes stuck. I don't intend on depositing any more money. I first deposited back in the end of February this year. It was actually pretty easy. Got it up and running within a day. I'm not sure how hard it is now.

And yeah, I'm looking forward to being able to withdraw with some regularity. I cashed out $100, so I think I've about broken even in terms of what I paid for my initial deposit, a poker book, and HEM.

This is interesting.... Right now I'm trying to formulate my plan for when to take shots at juicy 200 games lol. Gonna wait a bit still.

Yeah, don't be willing to go broke unless you can come up with another $500 pretty easy. I would cry at this point if I busted my roll, lol, so I make pretty strict rules for what levels I'm allowed to play. Moving up and moving down are built into the rules though.

If you are going to be aggressive moving up there is definitely going to be a lot of gamble involved, b/c you are relying on running OK. But don't think of yourself as pigeon holed in one level. It doesn't have to be as discrete as everyone makes it out to be. Mix the two levels if you can. Play 25 on weekends and 10 during the week. If you see a fish at 25, go sit with him, etc. EZ game. Basically, you have to decide the exact numbers to put into your personal rules, based on your comfort zone, but I recommend something along the lines of:

Bankroll (B):

x < B < y Play only 10
y < B < z Table select between 10 and 25
B > z Play 25 exclusively.

Fill in x, y and z, then stick to it no matter what.

I've said this often.

Use a BuddyList to take shots. Certainly you have Buddys at 10NL that sit at 25NL every once in a while. Target them on your shots. Play loose against them....tight against everyone else until you get reads.

Easy peasy

something like 100% VPIP for 100% of stack. This guy actually ran up his stack to $120 at one point. Sound familiar?

Meh, I had one of them today. 50 BB, open-shipped about every other pot. Called him with A9s and lost. At least he left after that.

My ironman bonus is gunna suck. I basically quit poker the first half of the year, and haven't gotten above silver since. Maybe $200-250, I can't remember.

Why am I complaining about free money again?

Quick sanity check here... I think this hand is symptomatic for my play recently. Hero has nitty image. Villain is 14/12 over a few hundred hands. Any suggestions welcome.

I'm such a low volume player, I've only made Iron Man 2 months this half-year, and it's going to be very hard to get it in December to qualify for the end-of-year bonus with my holiday schedule. The Holiday Hundred is a nice extra incentive to put in some volume, but having to play on so many days out of the month seriously conflicts with RL.
