Ditto. I'm thinking of moving over from Stars in January. Don't like the enforced volume requirements for non-pitiful rakeback.

I've been thinking about moving to Full Tilt too. I just don't like the randomness in granting rakeback for old unaffiliated accounts :P

Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

You guys have to keep in mind that I'm playing 6m. Nitty @ 6m is LAG at FR. I play fewer tables and I rely mostly on player notes b/c HUDs are considerably less informative at 6m than FR. There are always action junkies/donks at 6m, but from my VERY limited experience on FTP so far (again, this is for 6m), the "regs" are willing to stack off with hand values (given lines x,y and z during the hand) that the regs at Stars aren't willing to SD. In addition, even when you have a good bluff spot, the regs at FT still seem to make that crying call on the river where the Stars regs wouldn't.

I really don't have enough hands to give more info than that I'm afraid.

No ****! The reasons I stick with FTP are basically #1 rakeback and #2 deep tables.
I got a $500 bonus. I cleared a hundo of it last night in a lil' less than 3500 hands.

I will be playing pro next year for about 5-6 months so it would probably behoove me to leave some of my roll on FTP, but I'm a 200k vpp+ supernova on Stars so my rakeback there is better. (I'll email you with the pro info shortly )

how much volume does one have to put in to achieve sn or sne at, say, 100nl?
Is it even possible at lower stakes--50 and 25?

SN and SNE are very different.

SNE needs 3.3M hands at 100NL. (Some people have done this apparently). I doubt anyone's managed it playing lower, though there may be some Asian shortstackers mass multitabling 14 hour days who might be able to make it.

For SN
At 100NL - 330K to hit, 33K/month to maintain
At 50NL - 500K to hit, 50K/month to maintain
At 25NL - 900K to hit, 90K/month to maintain

So, easily manageable for a pro at all levels. The problem is (IMO) it fits exactly into the "uncomfortable" range of volume at 25NL and 50NL for anyone with a job and other commitments, and you're only allowed to miss the target for 1 month a year or you lose the status. Numbers also likely to increase by about 5% next year due to changes in the VIP program.

Are you on metric time?

Edit: Do you still need 10k vpp/mo to maintain status? That's kinda lame.

I glossed over the details a bit...
Once you hit 100K points for the year, you keep it.
Get less than 10K for 2 months before you hit 100K, you lose it until you hit 100K for the year (hence the metric bit)
Even more annoying, if you haven't hit 100K by the end of September, you lose it, so you need to average 10% more per month through September than I said if you really want an unbroken run (though you could then take 3 months off!)

It's a bit of a mess really.

Yeah, kind of strange that the pace to maintain it is more than the pace to get it. Although I guess it does make sense from their point of view. Suck you in and then put the screws to you just a little more when you already have too much invested to quit lol.

Just like a real boss.

thank you for the comprehensive breakdown kind sir. one more follow up q for you: what are the "rakeback" benefits of SN and SNE at those three levels? how much would a sn 50 or 100nler make in points and cash bonueses and the like?

http://www.twoplustwo.com/magazine/i...rstars-vip.php

Especially table 2. Numbers set to come down slightly with changes to the VIP program. (Yet to be announced, but it sounds like you'll need to knock off a couple % points off the NL numbers). Numbers for 25/50/100NL are roughly the same as those given for 200nl IIRC.

Basically, it's no coincidence that high volume grinders favour Stars.

Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

Ive decided to make the leap back to 6m ...

Ive never quite " made it " at FR and the inclination to mass table ..

Take the short stacking epedemic into the equation .. and i think its in my best interests to go back to 4 tabling 6 max and decent table selection ...

Personally ... i think thats an easier way to make good money on the poker tables ...

It also gives me the chance to take my time and improve my decisions and move back up the levels quicker ..

Obviously .. i will still pop into here and see how you lot are getting on

Hi Sammy, is your SN similar (or almost) to your 2p2 name? I think I've seen you on my tables a couple of times and every time you leave after a few hands. I was hoping you stay longer so I can watch your plan and learn. Or maybe I got the wrong Sammy...
