I do have tilt .. but more in a negative thinking way .. ill throw the odd outburst out but im normally calm withing a few minutes ...but by then i dont want to play poker ..

I think my issues are more mental than poker ability .. ive been fighting these demons for what seems like ages .. .and there comes a point where if things dont improve in that aspect ... your never going to make it as a poker player ..

There will come a time where after my latest debacle i have to question whether its worth it unless i solve these issues .
Funny you mention it, because I was thinking of trying "mental game" coaching, but I don't know if there's a demand for it. I'm an OK player, not the best, but I've been in the game for a while now and I've got a superb grasp on variance, meta, emotional reactions, and the general poker thought process.

I'd be willing to work with you as a "mental coach" for free, just to see if I can provide anything of value.

Nice one Kurt ... i would be well up for this ..

Im just in the process of sorting out a sweat session with a 6 max player .. so im going to need Skype / microphone and TeamViewer etc ..

I will also probably need these for hopefully some coaching on my FR game with HP ..

If things work out ok Kurt .. im willing to throw some $$ your way for your time ..

I will let you know when ive got everything up and running ..

At least this shows some positive intent on my behalf .. which is a start !

Hey Jos. It's definitely a two steps forward, one step back type of thing. I've made pretty good progress with my mindset, but every once in a while, the frustration still creeps in. Like last night, I just had a terrible sesh and felt a lot of negative emotion. Think I kept the terribad spew monkey at bay, but still made some pretty questionable plays. There area always going to be terrible days, but focus on making those baby steps.

TR after working with Kurt is mandatory lol. He's been pokering a long time and I'm sure he can help you.

Not necessary whatsoever. I'm rather curious if what I have to offer is of any value to others.

But when I was unemployed I used to take "free" gigs all the time.

"We need someone to XXX."
"Sure, I'll do it for free! Got plenty of time on my hands."

XXX has been flash coding for a website, stage managing a play, producing a circus, goaltending a hockey team, calling auto-repair clients, organizing an event, entertaining tourists, IT troubleshooting, etc. More often than not they threw me some sort of a bone afterward as thanks. Thought about opening a free services business even.

But even when they didn't, I either enjoyed what I did or learned something new along the way, so it was all good.

Edited to add: the downside is you will have to work around my schedule, which is pretty hectic these days, but I'm sure we can work it out.

Frustration is my demon ... its a gradual build up in a session which gets to the point that one more missed draw or finally hitting a draw and being beaten tends to put a nail in the coffin of that session ..

This month has been a good example of where things go wrong for me ..

I started the month with the intention of putting in a lot of hands ...

For the first 5k hands ..nothing happened and i stewed a bit .. then i hit a session straight from heaven .. i think i won something like 6 buy ins and then it was a gradual grind upto around 5-6bb/100 hands after 14k hands or so ..

Then yesterday ... i had a horror show .. i walked into everything ... actually laid down QQ twice and JJ three times preflop .. and the ones that went to showdown .. i was beat ..

I got rivered by god knows how many flushes and walked into flop straights when i hit 2 pair etc ..

This is nothing new ... this happens to everyone ... but it threw me off my consistent month ..

I quit for the day .. but after only one poor day on FR i went to 6 max and duly lost over 2 buy ins in 50 hands ... both coolers ..

and that was that ... i hate poker syndrome kicked in and ive not played since .

You see ... if i had just accepted yesterday's sessions as just one of those things .. and actually accepted i was a little lucky to be down only 2 buy ins .. then i would have just got back onto the FR saddle today and carried on the solid month.

But no ... i dont seem to work like that ... its things like this i need to iron out .... I know what to do .. just have problems implementing some common sense ..

When I suffer a bad beat, I just go through and visualize all my big wins and tell myself that I can make it all up with one good hand. Or if I'm having a good redline day, I tell myself I can make it all up with just grinding it out.

I had a nice torurnament day. Only two Mincashes but I ran pretty deep in the others ones although and it was pretty nice to be a day away from the cash tables

So nothing to complain even I would love to final table this $15 GTD tourney I played at PS.

Hi fellow 2p2ers, I have been playing poker for abt 2.5years now.. only started to do it more seriously early this year by taking part in live tournaments/cash games.

i now grind approx 8 hrs a day on FTP under the nick EmoFrog, and i'm doing NL25 & some NL50 SSS occasionally.

Hmm...what kind of bankrolls do you people have when 12 tabling?
Got 40+ at NL5 at the moment wich feels abit overkill but dont wan´t to jump to 12 tabling NL10 with over half of BR in either...
