For any cards you hold there are 50*49*48 possible ordered flops. If you hold a pocket pair there are 48*47*46 ordered flops which don't give you a set. So the probability that you hit a set on the flop is
1-(48*47*46)/(50*49*48) = 1-(47*46)/(50*49) =.118=11.8%

So the chances are 7.51:1 against.

Oh, and Maths is ridiculous.

There are 1326 possible hands.

For each rank, there's 6 pairs. 78 in total. 1 in 17. I assumed that odds of flopping a set are 8-1. Maybe 7.5 is more accurate.
78/1326=
1/13 is a mistake...but 3/51 is correct.

You begin with a card...one of the 13 cards. A pair occurs when you have, as your second card, one of the 3 matching cards of the 51 remaining.

Which...works out to be 1/17.

I hail to DAWD's math ability.

I'm buying a new computer, but want to keep my old databse in PT3. How do I do this? Someone said go "Databse", "Database Management", "Back up button", but I can't find any god damn back up button. I suck at computers

(i think)

although that might just export all your HHs rather than your actual DB

Because I don't like to play against more than 2-3 SS, and because I don't like to play 12/3 tables.

Do you have another option?

Open pgAdmin and backup the whole thing there, then on the new computer import from the backed up one.

Or you could export all your hands and import those, but that would take some time.

I had the misfortune of playing on the same table as mbburch today ..

The guy may be a winner ..but what an utter tool ..

Why on earth is he playing $25nl and berating everyone ?
11-08-2009 , 12:58 PM

dropped $600 (1/3 my roll) on friday mostly from this huge fish in mega ultra godmode that i got to follow me to 100nl HU. pisses me off that i tilted this ***** hard and blew through so much money 5 minutes before i was to leave for my camping trip this weekend

it was so completely ridiculous how much hands he hit. if there was any possibilty of a straight or flush he would get it
****er was running at 91 w$SD for that session ffs.

still im a ****** for tilting so hard and probably as a result even playing worse than him if that is at all possible

pretty sure PT3 explains in their faq or on their forums. if they dont, they suck. cause HEM explains it very thoroughly. you could always email them..
11-08-2009 , 02:24 PM
It's in the Forums . . . detailed instructions.
11-08-2009 , 02:42 PM
Sweet, found the instructions. It's gonna take like 10 hours to back up the whole thinig though...

SpadeEye Lite will scan all tables you filter for. When the scan is done, there is a column showing how many shorts are seated at each table.
