I still feel altering a fishes view of the game in a negative way is -ev. Even if he keeps playing he will just be looking to play better against you. If he is making terrible calls why berate him and let him no they are bad. Just let him be happy and keep making the terrible plays.
Right, I really do agree with everyone. I think I am just arguing because I am bored (I drove 5 hours to go home this weekend, only to realize home is boring). I just think calling someone a donk or a fish won't offend someone too much. Always better to just play it safe and not do it though imo.

you guys are so lol

which one of you was bitching at me at the tables because I spew lots? i know you who i am

like seriously, since I'm an epic donator in these games trying to give me lessons is only going to hurt your ev..just sayin. lol @ whining about getting it in good vs me, its not hard.

I mean come on, regs can be fish too let's not scare anyone away and make the games tougher than they need to be.

Oh, regs can be great fish if you know how to exploit them. If you want to improve your red line, do it against a 15/12 player.

Do they check call with two of a suit on the board? Check the turn and if the suit doesn't come through on the river and villain checks into you, then bet with anything.

Does he bet, bet and then check when the third of a suit comes? Bet big and take the pot.

Most regs are pretty bad at playing the turn and river. They are really passive with their draws, they are always scared of possible draws on the board, they will instantly let you know if they have something better than one pair. Their play is so predictable and they are so scared of everything. They won't spew chips (unless tilting), but they will give up pot after pot after pot after pot. During a session yesterday, I think I won like 50BB off a single opponent who was sitting to my right at two tables. Every time he entered a pot, I would call with just about any two cards. I never won a particularly big pot, but I won a lot of little ones.

It's great to be able to exploit little edges like this. It really helps alleviate the bad beats.

about 1K hands at NL100, just one of those days where everyone is either out setting me, making perfect calls or only have top-top against me.

tables were super juicy too (at least at NL100), I felt like I left a lot out there. I love how someone stacks off too someone else with 6th pair or chasing a guts shot, then against me, they hit top set.

Anyways, back on the horse tonight!

Edit: dear poker God @ FTP, hitting a draw or flopping something strong would help, kthxbai

STORY ABOUT BERATING FISH

Last night I played a long session (7 or 8k hands). I played yesterday afternoon and lost 4 BI's and quit, figuring I would regroup and come back. So I did. Then i start my session. So starting off I'm down $200, 3 times I get to within $50 of break even. Then 3 times in a row, I get a bunch of massive coolers / suckouts against huge fish and go back to down 4 BI's.

So around the 3rd time around, I was on my A game, I had a bad hand in the CO and got 3b but the guy 3b alot and I decided at that point that if the flop came no broadway cards, I was going to resteal the turn. So I call his 3b and float his cbet which was a little weak. (I have Q8s fwiw). The turn comes a Q and he bets barely over half pot, which to me screamed weakness so I shove which was basically a min raise and he called with jacks.

Moral of the story, I call lucky. But I don't shove there if I don't hit tp, I cut my losses. He begins to berate me in chat and I merely say to him, I'm not the one who stacked off with 2nd pair and leave it at that. I normally don't chat but he was a reg that I've seen around but I'm pretty sure he's not 2p2.

So fast forward to me losing 3 BI's and making them back again and almost being at even. I am a spewer, every once in a while, I do it. Then I kick myself out of it and I focus even better. So long story short, I am at a different table and I bluffed at the wrong time and lost a stack and the same guy seen the hand.

I just blew and entire stack with air and the whole table seen it. The reg (who wasn't in the hand) calls me a donk in chat, so I said, I'm just here to donate money but I guess you don't want my money, so I will give it to another table. and I stood up and left.

I just wanted the 8 other regs at the table to think that that guy was a total prick for talkin to fish that way. Plus the table was reg infested and I didn't want to stay, plus it gave me a reason to make him look bad.

<< shameless plug for 900th poast!

hit up www.Splitsuit.com for some good reading, pokery articles, 100% VPIP FR vids - and just plain fun times!

900th Poast Pokery Tips
  • Do not get stacks in against an overset
  • Do not get stacks in with your KK in the SB, against a BB set of 3's, in a 3b preflop pot
  • Do not get stacks in w/AKs on a AKTr flop, when villain calls a preflop 3b w/QJo
  • Do not pay off a vbet with an overpair QQ on a rag board, when villain hits their turn set
  • Do check to see which switch is tripped: Doom or Boom
  • Do check out RapidEvolution's latest 25FRNL vid, nicely done RE!
