hehe thanks. got my old username changed thx mitterr sklansky (/kenny tran).
Yea I'm a weirdo, I think I know how to play more of a 2p2 style but.. i have like, these voices in my head that tell me to do things differently. I stopped arguing with them a while ago because when I listen then, I win. Unlike most people who hear voices, my voices say the same things so that's nice and less confusing. How goes the grinding sir?

HappyPixel it's the rig I say, I think I cracked it., but you did steal my sb once 100 times and my soul feels incomplete when i cant complete.

Equus asinus, yea but I'm up 7 BI in 3 days. only 5k hands but it doesn't really feel much tougher than nl50. In fact I see some crazy fishies throw stacks at me way quicker. small sample of course, im at about 7ptbb but I'll expect it to drop to 4-5 as I was running on nl50. PTR depresses me as it ignores half my win sessions.

bottomline is, nl100 isn't much tougher than nl50. for some reason I thought it would be, but I guess I've developed a nack for sniffing the bums out.
Anyone jumped up to nl200 recently? Maybe that's where the dividing line is.. or nl400. Haven't had a losing day since august (altho when I lose early in a sess I tend to end up playing 3k+ hands), saying that I know im totally jinxing myself.

And an undertitle too... damn.

Grinding is going OK. As usual, just wish I could get more volume in.

PS, its senseless to argue with the voices.

Yea I haven't been able to play that many hands this week. Wanted to put in 3k+ a day but I ran out of my piracetam (doh).

Anyone who grinds should definitely look into buying piracetam / racetams nootropics. It's legal non prescription.. helps me focus and gives me photographic memory. No stimulant effects like some prescription stuff people tend to use... just making my brain function optimally. I feel like a big dummy in comparison now that I ran out. It has pretty much increased everything, my ability to focus (managed to 12 table 6 hours straight without fading mentally for a second, never done that before). Haven't experienced any sides.

Incidentally I started taking piracetam in August and since have not had a losing day, sick huh?.. anyways dont wanna sound like im some nootropic vendor. just google the stuff. it's seriously +ev for me and helps my mood too but.. I only think it works for people who's brains operate suboptimally, like if ur brain operates optimally then I dont think you notice it but id say 2/3 get the effects.. Might start a thread on it and other legal/safe poker supplements if there isn't one.

Edit: Today I get to see how I have been running the last 2 weeks or whatever it is since I stopped looking at the results.

Voices been around long before piracetam. Now they just harmonize better.

I don't look at results during sessions.. but it'd be a serious pain avoiding results for 2 weeks.... detrimental even. best learn not to be sensitive instead of hiding from results.

I'm trying to avoid and learn not to chase losses after a lossing session, be it $1 or $100. Think I will continue with it, seems to make me play better in the long run.

Perfect extraction. This is my favorite line of all time: flop cbet with the nuts, turn CRAI. OP, I love your line so much I want to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant.

Ive been prescribed adderall for much of this year. Its incredibly +EV, and I wouldn't be in my position without it. Its a boomswitch prescription, as long as you dont get addicted, die from a heart attack, or waste away from lack of appetite.

I know a few guys who have sampled adderall for poker and they love it, but they just haven't gotten an Rx for it. I'm going to ask them to try piracetam and get their opinions on adderall vs. piracetam.

anyone else play like open a$$hole last night and puke a few buyins?
09-30-2009 , 01:56 PM
I have never taken adderall and played. I don't have a script...

But I did take it a few times when I was trying to grind out my masters degree. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have finished it without it. It is epically cool. I might have gotten A's in school with that stuff. I think that means I have ADD, but whatever, who doesn't? I am a master procrastinator, and have the ability to turn out an epic amount of work in a short time when I'm properly motivated, but with the adderall it was taken to a whole new level.

I should try it for grinding. Bet it would be sweet.

yeah, i need to post a couple hands later and get some opinions. i felt like i was half playing terribly and half just getting porked...

my personal fav is when you're already down a couple buyins and then jump for joy when AA gets it in preflop vs. 99. flop 9 for the nutshot fatality...

I am an A$$hole, so I always play like one.

Have tried adderall & modanfil but.. mfil has less sides but piracetam has 0 sides for me, it's cheap- prescription less and much more subtle. You feel like you're at the optimal of your abilities without any drug effects. but yea the reasons you mentioned are definitely a killer.. cant really take add everyday, grind and expect a good overall wellbeing. with piracetam you can, if it works for you. you can buy like a 3 month supply on ebay for $30 or something.

That is interesting. I wonder if they have done actual clinical studies on it. Pubmed here I come. I will report back within the next couple days.

I'd be pretty leery of ebay for something like that though....
