[X] First night playing 50NL,
[X] First one of these I've seen in 15K hands...
[X] Hero doesn't have odds to call turn - does anyway
[X] Hero's fat fingers eff up bet sizing on river after soiling pants.

Shove river imo.

I'm feeling pritty good tonight. Shipped my best day @ teh pokers and officially turned my biggest downswing into a swong. Shipped a record day for the laundromat.

Soon as I finish mopping (only beat for the day imo) it's off to home to watch 2m2mm and have a nightcap of scotch.

Aiyaaaah! Back to NL10 we go after dropping 8 buy-ins in the past two days!

What I've learnt at NL25...

1] Fish are now aggro fish.
2] Regs are TAG-fish.
3] I'm not beating it. Far from it.

Come on Cheeseburgers!

At least for the Chinese, eight is the lucky number as far as I know. That's why the Beijing Olympics started on 8/8/08.

As for why we don't see more Chinese playing online I think that internet censorship is the culprit.

Need a Poker Buddy to review hands with. I grind the 50NL full ring during the day and Play at the casinos at night. Been playing break even poker for 4 years but since loosing job I want to dive into poker to see what happens. Enjoying unemployment.

Studdied the game over the last 4 yrs and am a Stoxpoker member. Now want to fill in all my holes and see if I have what it takes to win.

have you given thought to possibly investing into yourself for a few coaching sessions rather than the "buddy" system? from your post it sounds as if your planning on making it on a poker income for awhile... i think the buddy system is cool for knocking around hobby-wise, or for a little cash on the side.

i'm a stox member as well and recently associated myself with a coach i respect and admire and feel good about the hourly rates he charges, as i look at is as investing into myself and not just paying it out and i'm only playing 25nl right now with plans on moving to 50nl when i hit a 1k BR... i think your learning time curve and improvement speed would be greatly reduced with a quality coach. jmho.

Hello FT Regs.

I am currently playing 8-15 tables of 50NL CAP and 100NL CAP... I am aiming for 100K hands this month.

This is the first month that I've been 'officially' pouring myself into my play since I was in college ('04ish). Don't know if any of you guys play CAP... but I'm sure I'll make appearances at the non-cap tables in the near future.

How my month has gone sofar:

(this has 25NL mixed in as well):

And Stats:

Any thoughts/suggestions/idle chit chat would be welcome.

Cheers,
~gtp

PS - Does everyone run under EV in HEM?

i'll generally always minraise steal with tighties in the blinds... if there is a loose player i'll 3x it... picked that up from a Pokey vid on Stox and i also see it in HappyPixels CoTW #4

Pokey's Pooh-bah on blind stealing

Personally, my steal from the BTN is a minraise. HappyPixel, you big donkey!

But it only has to work 57% of the time to make it profitable in its own right, and that's ignoring postflop value, which is huge (since we have equity, position and initiative). And my steal success rate has only dropped by a small amount from when I used to make it 3BB (less than the 10% needed to make minraising less profitable).

Another reason for making our steals smaller is that we have position. So we want the SPR (stack-to-pot ratio) to be higher, since we can leverage our position more effectively postflop. A smaller raise size accomplishes this.
CoTW #4: Blind Stealing

but sometimes you get a hand like that too! oh well... i'm finding bet sizing to be a personal choice and brings out advocates on all sides!

We don't need you playing 50NL, it's hard as it is!!!

So, I recently made the switch from AP over to Full Tilt (finally have RB, FTW).

What a bunch of nits. I've never had so much success with 3b and c/r bluffing.

Does everyone play fit or fold at the quarter?
09-09-2009 , 10:46 AM
I'm sure this has been discussed, but I don't want to read all 300 pages, but has anyone ever withdrawn money on Full Tilt? I'm thinking about withdrawing $100. It seems like check is the best way to go, right? Is bank transfer better, or do people have trouble with that?

Well, if you just started people don't know you and might give you more respect the 1st few times. If I have no stats and no reads on someone I take it easy and careful as well.

What stakes do you play on?

That's kinda what I was thinking, but no one seems to have adjusted over 5k hands. I play a TAG style.

I had to drop back to 25nl after a soul crushing 16BI downswong at the fiddy. But, I picked up a good coach, and I'm steadily building back up. I've got 35+BI for the quarter, and I hope to start taking shots at 50nl again soon.

On a side note, I'm running 16BI under EV lifetime at the quarter. Time for some run goot?
