My FTP account is ~$1k.

My "old" way of taking shots was to grind out 30bi at the new level, then move in and play until I was -10bi or a reg. I'm trying to be more aggressive with BRM this time around.

So now I grind out $200 at 25nl then take a 4bi shot at 50nl. Took 2 shots this month. 2k hands -8bi.

Right now I am a super efficient machine for funneling money from 25nl to 50nl.

LOL at the very least you should charge a transaction fee!

think i'll take my shot when if i can get back to even, and maybe grind out a few more BI's at 25nl... up down up down up down up down... i've read some threads where posters claim 50nl was a bit softer as those coming into 25nl were trying to play tighter and better than 10nl and once you get to 50nl things began to open up? obv, not working for you...

Hard to say without reads on Villains... but your average Villain usually has a hand when they cbet, not to mention when they double barrel.

Oh, and why is AQ suddenly da nutz? :-P

Also, depending on your read, why not 3bet one or both of the hands?

Then there is two of us

Thinking of being more agressive with my BRM too. Have 40BI's for 50NL, should I take shots at 100NL although I get ass raped at 50NL but a solid winner at 25NL?

Brag: Won my first coin flip in a long time and it was a 300bb pot

Beat: It was 25NL 6max

Finding 6max way more fun to play than FR

Has anyone in Canada used instadebit for withdrawls? If so, how long does it take?

I use instadebit all the time. Usually takes about a day so if I cash out on a Wednesday my money is usually in my bank account for Friday so I can withdrawl it and rub it on my titties

I took a shot at NL25 6max, too.

It was really nice compared to the nit hell FR is nowadays

I ended the session a little bit over break even but these days that is like a big win for me considering the fact I am already 7Bi down at FR these month.

Not sure if I want to give 6max another shot today

Thanks, I did a withdrawl today, hopefully I get it by Saturday. I got my echecks from Stars within 24 hours so I'm hoping for 23-48.

Next NOOB question. I want to maximize my rakeback, should I never spend any of my FT points, should I just accumulate them and do nothing with them?

To maximize your rakeback (say if you like money more than trinkets), yes, save 'em and never spend 'em. FTP points purchases hit your MGR at a half-cent per point, so they hit your cash money rakeback at a rate of:

#points * .005 * .27

Note that, even though store purchases are not "free", that does provide some very good deals on things if you're going to buy them anyway.
08-20-2009 , 03:41 PM
McAvoy, once the withdrawl gets apporved by FTP your money sits on your instadebit account instead of going right into your bank account like it does on stars. So dont forget to log into your instadebit account and withdrawl the money from there.

You lose your RB if you spend them but its still profitable to do so since 73% of the value comes from the points. ie. If you buy a monitor that retails for $300 with points, youll take a RB hit of 0.27*300 = $81.

$81 for something valued at $300 is good value if you want it anyway.

Otherwise, sell your points in the marketplace if you dont want anything. This way you get the 73% cash value without having to buy anything you dont want.
08-20-2009 , 03:47 PM
Oh, and dont worry.. there are always people in the marketplace wanting 5k points for a FTP hat. Bizarre.

Or if they are sane, a CR/STOX subscription.

The trick here is "valued". What FTP will value at $300 in the store, and "give" to you for 60,000 FTP, you can usually find if you shop around for, oh, say $229.

$81 for $229 is still a great deal, but there is some markup on items in the FTP store. Which makes sense actually, as they have to store them and ship them, or dropship them, or whatever they do it costs them a little money.

This maybe?

Play the 1800 FTP 9 player sit & goes. Top 3 get a $24+2 token.

I then use the $26. token to play in the $750,000 guaranteed satellite. The top 11% or so receive a $215. buy-in. unregister from this for the $215 tourney $.

Edit: You only loose RB on the original value

Can you cash in the $26 token?

No, you gotta use it in a token tournament/sit&go. It's just a matter of which one, I suppose.
08-20-2009 , 04:46 PM
So to conclude, does everyone agree that it is more profitable to sell FT points and take the rakeback hit? Or is it only worthwhile to buy merchandise at a discount?
08-20-2009 , 04:54 PM
did a mini session at NL25 this morning.
08-20-2009 , 04:55 PM
How'd it go? Thoughts?
