It's been a while since I looked but I thought I had 0.13 points/hand at 25NL so you're probably looking at about 10-13k hands of 25NL and 6-8k at 50NL.

thanks kflip. looking at your thread I dont know why I play on stars.

I've played you HU and you should be better than most all FR regs.

Details plz

Oh man, I want a bonus so bad. One time FTP!
+1 to Bonus... can't check until tonight. Plz plz I could use one right now haha.

And Kurt, you give a serious attempt to playing HU. I'm +EV playing HU and short handed at FR tables and I suck at poker! Sample size ldo but it's just incredible how ******ed people will be. I'm positive you have the skillz to 1. pwn people heads up if you ramp up the aggression and 2. recognize when you encounter the few players that actually have an edge on you and then nit up till the fishies come.

I posted in the chat thread that I'm going to take a little 6 max vaction to see if I want to shift my play there. I was doing a little reflection and realized that I don't think I want to be a mega tabler when I grow up and my natural style is 20+ vpip so maybe 6 max will be a better fit if I work on upping my agression (smartly that is).

LOL trip report for my first night at 10nl 6max coming in a min. It will be relevant to this HU discussion.
07-30-2009 , 12:56 PM
I tried playing HU for a while, and I may not be great, but I could tell in <20 hands who had an edge in the match.

In terms of starting tables, if all goes well I'll be HU for 5 minutes then have 20-60 minutes of FR fishies to myself, so I forego the HU EV to try and have a nice full table. In the "starting tables" Cow players better than me told me this was a bad thing. *shrug*

Good luck at 6m.

We need a "clubhouse" forum. A place for everyone that met in this forum but plays different games now.

Ah, I thought you meant on FT in the recent weeks. I just cant dink against the half stackers HU like I used to I guess.

New software is nice for table selection, you can now have fullring only and sort by players/flop and avg. pot without getting 6max and other stakes mixed in.
07-30-2009 , 01:28 PM
I've played an average of 45,000 hands per month on FT for the last 36 months; so, OF COURSE, they ship me the $100 bonus.

That doesn't even replace the money I lost last night aipf with KK v. AA. **** you Full Tilt.

The new lobby is pretty cool. Check out the various widgets you can put in the lobby. I have already found the session information widget to very valuable

When FTPDoug shipped me the lobby Beta, there were still some bugs in the widgets. I played for 3 days with my session information looking like this:

A cruel tease, obviously.

They seem to have all been worked out; at least they are all working for me at the moment.

Now I hope the new update has fixed the table focus problem so my tables will pop to the front of 2+2 and HEM when it is my turn to act.

Is that 42 million points, so sick
07-30-2009 , 01:50 PM
How is it that someone gets $500 bonus and mpethy only $100?

Does not compute
07-30-2009 , 01:51 PM
haha it does compute. Mpethy is getting screwed by FT since the day he made his account there ;-)

How was your sweat Pele?

The fact he's played 45k hands there every month for the last 2+ years is most likely the reason. I was always the same with Party, as soon as I left they spammed with bonus offers then when I played I got none.
07-30-2009 , 02:03 PM
The higher your volume, the lower your bonus. The people that play high volume doesn't need to get tricked into FTP4L
07-30-2009 , 02:03 PM
Makes sense...

**************************************************
tl;dr warning: cliff notes, HU is fun, 10nl 6max is apparently inhabited by huge poker pro egos who like to pwn fish (me)
*************************************************
********* HH's & Chat included for LOL value *************

OK Kurt, your HU comments inspired me to post my TR from my LOL first night at 10nl 6 max.

Background: My regular game is 50nl FR on tilt. I've had OK results there until a recent doomswitch followed by terrible spew. Just trying to get my game sharp again...

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.10(BB) Replayer
SB ($7.21)
BB ($12.31)
UTG ($4.14)
UTG+1 ($7.12)
Hero ($13.86)
BTN ($3.40)

Dealt to Hero K A

fold, UTG+1 calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.40, fold, SB calls $0.35, BB raises to $3, fold, Hero raises to $13.86 (AI), fold, BB calls $9.31 (AI)

FLOP ($25.12) 9 6 J

TURN ($25.12) 9 6 J A

RIVER ($25.12) 9 6 J A J

Hero shows K A
(Pre 46%, Flop 27.8%, Turn 95.5%)

BB shows Q Q
(Pre 54%, Flop 72.2%, Turn 4.5%)

Hero wins $23.45

I double checked the calcs, and with the dead money it's only EV- if his range is exactly AA,KK. God's gift to poker was running 50+% vpip over a couple orbits. SB was running 60/20 over 30 hands. LOL, I'm pretty OK with felting here.

God's Gift to Poker: nice suck out donk
Me: lol what's a donk
God's Gift to Poker: u
Me: i don't get it
Me: lol lol
God's Gift to Poker: i bet u lose alot of money on here keep pushing with AK hahahaha
Me: i beat you lol
God's Gift to Poker: come play me in heads up fool see how u go
Me: ok
Me: where
God's Gift to Poker: ill go to a table and let u know
Me: u want your cheeseburger money back
God's Gift to Poker: ok come find me
God's Gift to Poker: table is called lamp
Me: what lmit is it
God's Gift to Poker: 25-50c are u scared hahaha

OK LOL! So I'm not an awesome poker player or anything, and I'm not awesome heads up, but: 1. This dude is a d bag 2. He called a coinflip a suckout -> probably not the most knowledgeable poker player (and I say that was an EV+ move) 3. He's steaming after losing a flip lol, and "tapping the glass" if he really thinks imma fish -> tilting?

All in all that adds up to EV+++++++++ for a HU match with this guy. I'm over-rolled for 50 so I don't mind spending a BI to find out if I actually have an edge on this chump but TBH I will be pretty depressed if I don't.

HU Match:

Me: 50 dollars buys a lot of cheeseburgers
Me: how did you have that much in your account?
God's Gift to Poker: i would have 3x what u have in your account
Me: lol yeah?

I decide to establish an aggro image right away, but I'm doing it relatively cheaply. I have been raising pretty much every botton. Folded to a couple 3 bets. I'm cbetting most flops. Usually letting him have it when he comes over the top. By now he thinks I'm the biggest ****** ever and has pretty much stopped folding against my cbets. He's boosted $10 off me. At this point I'm wishing it was a deep table so I could still stack him, but oh well. Time to tighten up... doubt he will realize that's what's happening.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
($58.60)
Hero ($55.45)

Dealt to Hero K K

Hero raises to $1.50, raises to $6, Hero raises to $18, fold

Hero mucks K K

Hero wins $12

God's Gift to Poker: u bluff way to much
(Excellent - image established lol & thx for the advices)

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
Hero ($56.45)
($57.10)

Dealt to Hero 6 A

RIVER ($7) 7 2 6 2 T

Hero checks, bets $7, Hero calls $7

shows 8 5
(Pre 42%, Flop 44.2%, Turn 25.0%)

Hero shows 6 A
(Pre 58%, Flop 55.8%, Turn 75.0%)

Hero wins $20.50

Me: so do you
Me: lol lol
God's Gift to Poker: nope just when i no your weak

I'm being outplayed obv. After checking down a hand...

Me: look i didn't bluff that, lol nh
God's Gift to Poker: and u just do silly calls keep doing that and u will go broke very quick
Me: how do you know so much about poker lol
Me: do you normally play 10
?

Hand # 36...
Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
($52.75)
Hero ($58.90)

Dealt to Hero K K

Hero raises to $1.50, raises to $7, Hero calls $5.50

FLOP ($14) 6 2 2

bets $45.75 (AI), Hero calls $45.75

TURN ($105) 6 2 2 7

RIVER ($105) 6 2 2 7 J

shows 5 5
(Pre 20%, Flop 10.0%, Turn 4.5%)

Hero shows K K
(Pre 80%, Flop 90.0%, Turn 95.5%)

Hero wins $105

LOL NH. Expert spot to turn your hand into a bluff with your entire stack when $10 will probably due if you really want to follow up.

He insta left before I could ask for coaching

Brag: He begged and begged and then got what he had coming
Beat: Not much of a brag to beat this guy
Variance: The deck cooperated with me lol - would have been the suck to run completely card dead against this guy.
Savage Beat: He left before I could tell him I was gonna rub his $$ on my t1tties

Sorry for turning an hour long sesh into an epic TR but I found the whole situation pretty LOL. I think the important lesson here, (besides HU being EV in the right situation and chatting is fun), is that you should never get a big head...

lol brilliant. That was hilarious!

Also, AKs shove super standard. I took a night of 6m vacation myself this month. I'm used to getting AK allin preflop and running into AA or KK. Twice that night I got AK allin and was ahead... on the flop... unimproved... twice.

Ha.

Finally they implement lobby filters. Too bad they removed the feature "be able to play poker" while doing it. Todays personal record is 600 straight hands without a total crash forcing me to reboot my computer. Go FTP developers!

I have been playing with the new lobby for a week or so and have not had a problem. Are you certain it's not your computer?
