Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

I haven't played at FT since last weekend, wanted to give the updates a chance to maybe work well, but I'm jumping back in tonight for the weekend. I had updated my HEM to 14a, now I see it's on 18. But I read some reports about HEM lagging on v. 18, and people going back to v. 17. Which version of HEM should I update to?

Ill just leave it with these few because they are the worst, but there were a few more normal little beats that cost me some money as well. If this is regular everyday type stuff maybe I am just sweating it too much, but I really don't think these are all everyday type things that you see all the time. The last one also isn't that bad, but it hurt me because that guy was running 55/35 and would called down with anything pretty much
wow your opponents got lucky, sucks majorly. don't get me wrong, those hands are brutal, but you're obviously just on a sick swing

I would love to think it is a swing, but it is like over 50k hands I keep seeing it happen lol. I am not sure how long downsings can go but I guess its possible?

that is a nice chart there I appreciate lookin at it, but it still seems like your swings are much smaller in timeframe then mine. looks like your downsings last about 10-15k hands or so

Look at the start of his graph....

Then look at hand 88k or whatever.......

while his downswings may only look like they last 10-15k hands, he's got close to a 90k break even stretch going there

he also goes from 600 to negative 400 in about 45k hands... assuming all 50NL that's a 20 buy-in swing right there as well.....

Either way, i'm sure it's quite annoying for him just as your brutal raping is for you.

Keep with it though, eventually things have to even out provided you are a good winning player who refuses to tilt .....

then again, I'm playing NL2 so what do I know haha.

At every level, including NL2, there are some good players just without the bankroll. Maybe you're one.

I think I am looking at this a lot differently then yourself. I see this as he had 2 downswings.... one from about 43k hands to about 51k hands played and it was a brutal brutal downswing. The other from 70k hands to about 78k hands which was another very bad downswing. Other then those period he was rather consistent with winning and then at the tail end had an upswing where he made a lot of it back from about 85K hands to the end.

Also like I said I appreciate that graph because that is probably about as bad as I am running myself, so it is reassuring that the big upswing could be in my future. We shall see how things go I won't be able to play online until august 5th because of vegas tomorrow afternoon for 2 weeks muhuhuhahaha. Lets hope the upswing happens there :-)

Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

While I ran pretty awful over much of that stretch I'm not gonna deny that a lot of my losses (in the region of $1-2k!!!) were from tilt and spew fuelled by running bad. It's easy to get into a total mess and lose a lot very quickly like at 45k and 70k hands on my graph... being breakeven over a long period can be really frustrating and it's very important to try to control your tilt as well as you can.

The upswing at the end is almost all this month after I put a lot of work into eliminating my tilt/spew problems, which hopefully goes to show that being patient and having good self-control can bring you back out of the worst downswings.

Anyways, gl and run better and have fun in vegas =)

I have RB at FT, it really does help your monthly income if you play a lot like I do.

I don't like stars because I got doomswitched as soon as I put money on there. Went down a quick 10 BI in a few short days. I'm just NOW getting positive, like 10 minutes ago.

lol there are no such things as "doomswitches when making a deposit" or "doomswitches when making a withdrawl"

Rakeback is just to nice to give up, altho for high volume players PS is a lot better I believe

Didn't CMAR have a downswing/BE stretch over like a 100k-200k hands (if not more)? Think I saw the garf somewhere but can't find it now

I've started improving my game recently when I switched to 6max for awhile, before that I just went throw the motions at 50nl and never really paid much attention to improving. I personally can't mass multi table well too which is annoying. I think far to many people get stuck in a rut a 50nl and are happy to grind it away, they say they want to improve their game before moving up but I don't think they actually put in any effort too, I think there's very few people who can mass table + improve there play at the same time.

Edit: More on people trying to improve their game. Like I said earlier with the redline first, WR second I think a lot of people's ideas of improving their game consists of getting a better red line and 3betting more so you can have a nice 3bet % stat to look at in HEM. For a huge amount of time I was the excact same, a good few posts of mine in the Stats thread telling people that having a negative red line in the micros is a leak or atleast not "standard". My red line for the last month+ has nose dived in epic fashion and I'm delighted as my WR has gone in the opposite direction. Another thing I think people should move up when they have $x in their bankroll (x = being whatever people are comfortable at, for me it's 20 someone else might be 40) rather then having xBB/100
This is not getting near enough love. I'm proof that you can have pretty goods stats and still be a mediocre (barely winning) player. Having people look at your stats and say, oh you need to do this more and that more is just 10% of the work that needs to be done. The other 90% is finding the right situation to make those changes work. Trying to up your aggression or increase your 3 bet% can turn you into a spew monkey if you're not paying close attention to the situation. We always have to be searching for the why behind what we are doing.

There's still definitely some bad players at 50NL, but it's harder to avoid reg wars. And the FT software updates made PT2 a pain in the butt to use, and Poker Copilot on my Mac is unreliable, so I hate playing 50NL (where I don't know the regs) without a HUD. That and 25NL feels like it's been supersoft this month--maybe it's the people clearing bonuses--so between that and the increased volume I'm playing, it feels like the first month I'm making actual money.
Tilt changed the clearance date to August 31 for the midyear Bonus according to my Ironman Page so I don't think you need to kill yourself trying to clear.

straight vs flush on the river
QK vs QJ, lost (all in pre)

and no action with any of my big hands

ya that really makes me feel good because now when I get home I will be able to clear the last 1k points that i wasn't able to get because I will miss the rest of the month. Thank god for Full Tilt switching that up due to their horrendous start to the month.

From what I've read, below supenova, FT is better. SN and SNE is better than FT RB.
