It's quite sick how soft cap games are. People are happily getting it in with Middle pair, no kicker...

Games where everyone plays with an effective stack of 30 BB.

**** 50NL!!!! I am WTF!!!! I sit here and CRUSH CRUSH CRUSH CRUSH 25NL now not only can't I win at 50NL I can't even break even. EVERY SINGLE KID has it against me and if they don't they end up with it. It is insane..... how is it that everytime I play I get crushed in here to the tun of 20BB/100 on ****ing coolers ALL DAY. but nooooooo at 25NL I can win at 8BB/100 over any period of time. It makes no sense I am just skipping 50NL. Once I get a BR for 100NL I am going right there because 50NL is straight bull****. Way to hard to win when every kid coolers you every time.

PS Funny how much you can calm down after writing one post and sitting out of mad BS tables for 5 minutes. I am not even going to edit this because it is insane how pissed i was for 2 minutes there. I dropped 3.5 BIs without ever getting paid on a single hand and ever holding up on a single hand. Was a very very very hard stretch of cards and I really dont think I will play 50NL again although I am calmed down now.

I vi's Rules for 50nl

1. They're not playing back at you. If you think they are and they're on your left, change tables.

2. Value bet the fish more.

3. Reg wars are dumb and a crappy way to make money.

4. Play fewer tables, work on hand reading.

5. Don't pay off on the river when you beat nothing.

6. Play more hands.

7. Don't play when tilting.

8. Profit.

Good luck! I wouldn't suggest skipping 50nl. I don't know how it plays on FT, but at least on Stars, it's easily beatable if you're good postflop. People are for the most part pretty bad, even regs. At 100nl, the regs start being mildly competent. I would imagine the jump from 25nl to 100nl would be way more frustrating than moving up to 50nl and trying to beat that. FWIW, it took me 3 times of moving up to 50nl before I considered myself a "winning regular." I'm beating it now for a decent rate, but it was only after I really thought about where my profits came from, and spots I could get more value with semi-weak holdings (like underpairs on a drawy board).

hey man i feel the exact same way. i was crushing 10nl, moved to 25nl, and i'm just getting raped over and over and over and over again. i had to move back down, but after a couple hours 9 tabling i'm rolled again, which shows how sick easy 10nl really is. (: gl dogg, moving up can be balls

I never played in one of those. Anyone else grind these games? I think I could get used to players shoving middle pair.

i play cap live sometimes. it can be great because you have 70%+ of players seeing every flop, and people tend to either fold a lot postflop or get it in with trash. on the other hand, you will want to murder everyone at the table when you have no FE and hit a bad run against draws + have your wins capped as well.

I am pretty confident in the way I am playing, I just run really bad everytime I jump up. I have won at like 1BB/100 , but it sucks because it is so much slower, swingier (if thats a word haha), and just stressful then 25NL.

It might seem swingier because wins and losses are bigger (LDO), but I promise you, there aren't more bad beats or anything, and regs can't see your hole cards. TBH, I find 50nl pretty stress free. A few things that I think used to contribute to my tilt or thinking I was taking a lot of beats was getting into reg wars (thinking they're playing back), paying off with hands based on hand strength and not based on a range for villain (and thus concluding "omg how could I lose with top two?? 50nl is so rigged!"), and c-betting bad boards (and getting c/r'd frequently, and then thinking they must be playing back at me, and then tilting).

Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

standouts - I just want to emphasize I vi's rule #4 for you. I've played with you a few times and IIRC you were mass tabling and it's easy to play way too robotically when doing so. Especially when you're moving up to a new limit you should play a fewer number of tables.

What you could also do is slowly "merge" from 25nl to 50nl - that is, go from playing your regular amount of tables of 25nl to 50nl by starting with all 25nl tables and replacing each one with a 50nl table or two each session. If you normally play 8 tables of 25nl, jumping straight to 8 tables of 50nl may be a bit daunting. Try 2 tables of 50nl and 6 of 25nl and take it from there, etc. FWIW, if you're having this much trouble, I don't think you should be playing 8 tables.

Today Regs pwned my arse at 25NL, though I was like a non-believer though they had polarized ranges...

I'll be back after Analysis because that's the only thing I can do now to improve myself and it is a winning formula since it earned my a couple of k's

Not quite, some of that is from last month. I've only played 40k hands so far this month.

I understand the simple concepts believe me on that one. I don't think it is rigged, but for me I run cold as ice whenever I play there. Swing size has nothing to do with total dollars either because I judge it buy BIs rather then dollars. What I do think is happening is I start off sessions by running bad and they snowball into a bit of tilt and become completely BS sessions. In 25NL the swings are def lower because the play there is so poor you can just dominate the players without much thought. At least in my experience I haven't found any resistance down there except for a select few.

I kept doing this recently and I destroyed 1/3 of my bankroll

I was running terrible, but I'm pretty sure I could have either broke even or made the downswing much much less sever if I hadn't done what you just mentioned in the bolded part. I learned an important lesson, but I paid good money for it. Copy my notes on this one and skip the tuition. The main lesson, is quit if you are tilting.
