Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

Hi guys, I'm kflip. I play 10NL and 25NL at Full Tilt these days in order to rebuild my roll after cashing it out in December.

The Full Tilt lobby sucks imo. Full Tilt points are pretty much useless imo. Ironman sucks, you shouldn't have to play a specific amount of days to reach an Ironman level. I enjoy RB.

That is all for now

Playing the FT NL25, at least for now. I hate how the games become infested by ultra nits and shortstacks during the ye bonus clearing times. I also hate that I am running like ass lately, but that's a completely different topic.

I will be a FT semi-reg now that I'm moving to Stars. I free Stox, so I'll get my monthly 2500 FT Points.

Currently grinding 50nl and running like ass. Good news for 25nl'ers thinking of moving up, people still suck bawls at 50.

edit: bawls

Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

I just switched to FT although I never chimed in in the PS thread. This one is so fresh, so virginal and young I just couldn't resist it.

I'm playing 25 right now. Just moved up from 10. Shipped the 2 ptbb/100 win rate over 13k hands lol. I'm kind of disappointed but I guess I should just be happy that it's + at this point (sample size is obv the problem right, not that i suck at teh poker ).

I agree that the lobby sucks balls. How do you guys table select? I pretty much stick to the deep tables with the highest vpip. I'm wondering if there is a better way. Other than that the software is pretty good imo. It's strange they don't add a lobby filter.

Also, do you guys get 3bet a ton pf? I'm not sure if the increase is because I moved to 25 from 10 or because I moved from PS to FT or both??????? 10 NL on stars I had I license to steal blinds it was great. On FT I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with the constant 3bets. Oh that and AK haha.

tl;dr cliff notes: What up? I play on FT too.

Oh, I just thought of another burning question that some other folks might have.

If I never have had a premium Stox account do I have to buy a month with FT points first before I can do the free (as long as you keep getting 2500 points a month) deal?

Are the deep stack tables significantly tougher than the regular tables? I found myself loosing like hell at the deep stacked tables, but now turning a profit at the regular tables...

Maybe I just can't play deep stacked poker...?

So far I only have 13k hands mostly at deep stacked tables. There are still fish and aggrotards around. One thing to keep in mind is that if you only buy in for 100 BB (which I still do) you are not playing a deepstack game, but if most of the other players have you covered then you have effectively eliminated shortstackers from your opponents. That is the main reason I have been playing deep tables. It just seems that every regular table I have looked at has 3+ 20BB shortstackers that totally )$*# the game. I don't mind mixing it up with a few shortstackers here and there but right now I'm trying to learn actual postflop poker and they aren't good for that.

The only problem I have is that when I'm up on a table then it does switch to a deepstack game and set over set @ 150+ BB hurts like hell. That beings said I can't bring myself to rathole just yet.

It is a good question whether the average level of play is better on deepstack tables though.... can anybody else chime in?

I found that somewhat true on PS but that's definitely not the case at 25 on FT. BTW are you playing 10 on FT??? That's a big no no b/c of the 10% rake I hear.

I don't think there's much of a difference if your own stack is only 100bbs deep. Maybe the % of regs is a bit higher.

If you're deeper effectively though, you have to adapt for deep stack play - think about implied odds and reverse implied odds a lot! Generally speaking, hands that suffer from RIO like top pair hands, overpairs and better even, go down in value and your implied odds hands go up in value, simply b/c there's more behind and people who are not experienced playing deep stack stack off too light. And then there's coolers: Cooler them more often than they cooler you . Speaking about preflop, think about what hand you're likely going to flop and what your plan with different hand types will be. Hands that hit TP a lot like AK, AQ etc. are good to play a small-medium size pot with (unless they hit harder ofc). Hands that can flop huge are good to hit huge (lol, obviously) and play a big pot or no pot at all with (suited Aces, SCs, PPs).
One last thing: stacking off with bottom set on any dry flop for 200bbs every time is not as sexy as for 100bbs

Well, there's probably a lot more to consider, but I'm def not a deep stack specialist (nor a 100bb specialist ) or something myself.

Thanks Kflip! That's all pretty solid advice but I probably need to let this one sink it the most. So hard to find the fold button when omg I has a set haha.

Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

I played some of the 50 and 100NL deep tables on FT back in the day. Be careful. RIO situations creep up quite a bit if you're 200bbs deep. In addition, the 100NL deep tables are littered with regs, including 200NL regs who are better than the 100NL regs. The 50NL deep tables...meh, I didn't find those to be all that different than the regular tables. That said, I always sat at the deep tables with a 100bb starting stack and could usually double up pretty quickly. For some reason, I think the 200bb stacks view you as a short stacker and getting 'committed' in the hand is easier when you've only got 100bbs and the other players have 200bbs+.

Oh noes!!!! Are you still playing on FT Knn?? I'd like to move up someday and not get slapped back down. Thanks for the info about the deepstack tables. I'll know to worry about them a little more when I try to take shots at the next level.

I play NL10 on FTP; screen name IlliniDave. Focused on building bankroll to get to NL25. I don't play as many hands as the regs here (16k over last year) with 3 kids and 60 hr/week job. Maintained 2PTBB/100 rate and built bankroll to $300 (from 0 start of year) with rakeback.

I had focused on deepstack tables, but had a 6BI downswing in November with set over set, flopped straight over set situations. Playing the $3+.30 90-man KO SNGs to help pad bankroll, and trying to use SpadeEye a little more to pick tables.

See ya at the tables!

Re: ***Official 2009 Micro Stakes FR Full Tilt Regulars Thread***

I think playing deep at the Deep tables at NL10 is, rakewise, a better deal than playing the regular tables. FT Caps NL10 rake at 2.00 so if you break the $20 pot threshold you start reducing the the rake a bit. Not enough to get you down to 5%, but if you can't move money anywhere else(getting harder for Americans to do this) and aren't rolled for 25 this is probably what I would do.

I am not playing on FT atm. I will play some next week or in January at some point to clear my iron man bonus, but that's it for the time being. I would like to split my time between Stars and FT at some point. Clear just enough vpps on Stars to hit SN by, say, Sept. of this year and then prob. do the rest of my hands at FT?? idk, we'll see what happens.

if i'm not mistaken, max tables on FT = 16. that'll get you a little over 1k hands/hr. whereas 24 tabling on stars gets you just over, what, 1200 hands/hr.? You'll prob. be seeing 200 hands fewer/hr. on FT with max tables than on Stars, but that's just my estimate.

stars is anywhere from 1400-1700 depending on how many fast tables...

hopefully FTP will be right around 1k/hr.

^^^ Done.
-----------
Are people on FT also converting points by playing FT point buy-in tourneys as a means of turning points into $$ or T$? (I'm not aware if there's even a way to do that ). If so, is it worthwhile?
