When to Cbet? What kind of board? When to Cbet? What kind of board?

Hello, I beat 5nl for 10bb/100 and built my roll to 200. I am now taking shots at 10nl and I think one of my biggest leak is cbeting too much. I am cbetting about 95% of the time. I am not sure how often it work but if I can avoid cbetting when it's obviously not gonna work I can save myself slot of money. So my question is when's a good time to cbet? What board texture? I just started 10nl so I don't have data on the player here and their fold to cbet %. Sorry if this question is really beginner and thanks for any advice!

depends on villian..

in general, it isn't good to bet cordinated boards as we get c/r a lot and many hands will call us. e.g. Qh10h9c.

c-betting threads in the stickies would be the place to look... Super broad and multi-faceted concept.

And its not as if there's one correct way...

some massive winners c-bet 80%+ whereas other massive winners c-bet far less

Cardrunners for $27 a month would go a long way towards answering this for you.

One tip, careful with your cbets with tighter short stacks. You're going to get yourself into a lot of bad spots there.

As stated above... it depends on villain. I check their fold to cbet stats on Pokertracker if I have enough hands against them. If I flopped nothing, and they never fold to cbets, I'll usually check it. As stated in Harrington's book, checking after a raise can make the player think you're slowing down because you have a good hand. If they check the turn then bet 2/3-3/4 pot. Don't fall in love with this concept though. You have to cbet some flops because when you hit a big hand you want to make sure you are able to get them to call your bets.

Cbet tight villains more, don't cbet against calling stations especially OOP. Don't cbet in multiway pots with air. Also usually cbet A-high boards.

C-bet flops that hit your perceived opening range.
