Question for everyone, I'll be getting my iron man back this month, good or bad to show the chip?

I tend to give an Ironman more respect, which means it's harder to get my stack, but you can bluff me. If I had one, I'd hide my chip.

I agree with the others, I don't think there is an up side to displaying it.

I assume that if people adjust to an Iron Man, it is giving him a little more respect when he bets. Since I am value betting more than bluffing, it seems -EV.

I've noticed the spanish players like to play a more aggressive TAG game.

Yeah I thought about that. I c/r rarely, so for this one I decided the river was a more likely spot to get a fold. I didnt like it the small amount he threw out there on the river, pretty much forced him to call any c/r.

Taylor Caby addresses the iron man chip in his "Online Tells" video on the new FTPA. http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/...lessons/id/41/

At about 2:20 ["Another indicator of strength is the presence of the iron man chip. The iron man chip is given to players on FTP who play the most amount of hands. These players are generally some of the best players at the tables because they play the most at FTP and have worked on their game. When I sit down at a table, I'll look to see if any of my opponents have this iron man chips and I'll generally regard them as solid players because these players have played a ton of hands at the table."] Then he goes on and explains how to turn off the option of showing your own iron man chip. He recommends it so that players paying attention wont gain any extra information about him.

BTW, anyone working on getting their Academy Credits?

I'll read it since you took the time to link it, and because I'm a tard. But, I'm not switching to the dark side... (yet.)

You guys do need to spice this thread up. Reading it is like watching golf. lol
03-09-2009 , 03:52 PM
lol, the iron man promo is actually pretty nice, esp if you win the freeroll and have a chance at some real cash.
03-09-2009 , 03:55 PM
Yeah it sounds pretty sweet. I think I will be joining you guys for 25nl. I should be rolled after my Diggerthedog 1st annual 100k challenge is finished at the end of the month.

I like this thread. Less aggro flaming imo.

Ya I recently added in ftp in addition to my stars, so I playing on both sites. Pretty ez to qualify for iron man, just a short 2 hour session of 6-8 tables should get your points for the day.

03-09-2009 , 04:01 PM
