64s is my new favorite hand. Beat the same person with it on back-to-back hands. He was not pleased.

redeye, you missed some value on the river on hand one, otherwise it is a pretty tilt-inducing pair of hands.

Yah...I feared the flush too much. Meh - it happens.

In case it is not perfectly clear, this 4% does not reduce your 27% in any way -- it is the rakeback affiliate's way of enticing you to recruit for them (same principle as rakeback in general). They give up 4% of the MGR that they are entitled to entice you to bring players to their site.

RakeReduction.com (sponsored 2+2 forum) offer this as do others.

I picked a random 2+2 acquaintance and had him create a RakeReduction landing page so that he could get 4% of my rake (that would otherwise go to the rakeback site).

If you want to donate your 4% to me, then sign up here.

What ever you do, don't sign up without at least seriously considering getting someone to receive that extra 4%!

you do have friends......? lol, well, you could PM me for MY RTR # then. I can find a way to kick it back.

Thanks. I'll keep it in mind. Probably won't be signing up for a few weeks anyway. Don't think I know anyone personally. My friends mostly seem to think it's a bit ridiculous even considering being an online poker (semi)pro.

Wow, I saw him stack off AIPF 200bb with JTs and 55. He is a 1/2 player? He was playing tight otherwise so "drunk" doesn't seem to fit. Weird.

I would tend to agree. I'm an an amateur who pretty much sucks at poker. I play for the challenge, not to earn a living. Unless you are really good at poker or very unsuited for other jobs I think a young person has a much better opportunities for earning a living. It is like being a painter or a poet: fine if you really really love it but don't go into that field for the money.

Gotta love those Full Tilt commercials where the players are talking about picking up physical tells. Somehow, it doesn't seem to work online. The venus fly traps have great poker faces.

They're good for the game. Romanticize and make poker seem like a mysterical game, only for special & gifted people. People who are watching that advertisement going "I could do that".

Then they come to the tables and overshove flops AI with nothing because they picked up a tell on my avatar.

@Pele: Will you continue to play LAG at NL10 like you did at NL2? I am just corious since I play pretty tagish at NL10 (more then at NL25) but would love to hear how/if a lagish style work out there.

Yeah, I agree. Full Tilt commercials are the best. They are the only ones that are actually about playing poker. The Stars ones are comparing poker with things like hockey and football. And I have no idea what is going on in the UB ads.

Has anyone ever bought a continuing month before? I haven't played in December and I need to buy one. Do I do it now? Or when do I do it? Will I still get the bonus for December if I buy December?

I could use some help.

Put me in the "unsuited for other jobs" category. I don't work for other people at all well and wouldn't be effective as a boss either as I wouldn't trust others enough to delegate.

Plus with poker you can work only as much as you need to make an acceptable living. Most other jobs it's either 45+ hours whether you need the money or not, or part time but meagre hourly.

Also, remove me from the "young person" category.

I noticed him too. He was running like 35/30/10 with 15% 3bet and was running over about 5 of the tables I was on.

Pretty soon when you are at NL50 NL25 will seem like a joke as well.

I bought a continuing month for November when i went on my road trip and they tell you to do it at the start of the next month, so i bought mine on Dec 1st and my ironman status and months was instantly brought back to the same status it was before i took November off. Always good to email them to confirm as to when they want you to do it but i assume it will be the same as for me.

As for still being able to get the bonus im not sure if the continuing month will allow you to claim the end of year bonus altho i would be disappointed if i were to not be rewarded for half a years play for using a conituing month. That aspect i would certainly email them about though for sure.
