Standard.

You're going to have to learn the difference between playing for fun and playing for profit.

The lesson to take away from this is when you don't feel like grinding, don't play.

yeah I guess.

..or drop down to 2NL and play a 100 VPIP challenge for a couple hundred hands...

as opposed to 2KNL !

Didn't play much this month and am just getting back into things. My TNFT is giving me issues, so my sessions are kind of short, but i think it's great how refreshing taking a few weeks off from poker is. I'm actually enjoying playing and am disappointed that I can't make my sessions longer.

Or how about moving down (e.g. to 2NL) to play like a tard? Lots of other people play 2NL when they are drunk and want to be an 90/70 maniac. Then it is perfectly fine if you spew of 2 or 10 BI.
12-26-2009 , 02:42 PM
Where's the fun in that?

I guess if, like Phil Ivey, you are addicted to that sick feeling you get when you lose a **** ton of money, there is no fun in it.

Not being a gambling addict (I derive no pleasure for playing way above my BR and losing), playing low and spewing is fun when I just want to play badly and mess with uberfish.

I've tried moving down to 2nl and played really crazy, but I don't find it amusing at all. I need to play for big money I don't know why, maybe it's because of the rush or something? Not looking good for me anyway
12-26-2009 , 05:40 PM
perhaps try a donkament? I like the matrix tourneys when I'm drinking.
12-26-2009 , 05:43 PM
Tried that as well. Not amusing at all, unless it's like a 300$+ donkament. Aggh, what's wrong with me!?

I also get no entertainment in moving to 2NL and playing like crazy there. It has to be for some $, gambling! Meh if you are a gambler, then you have this problem.
12-26-2009 , 06:14 PM
I'm not much of a gambler and I get zero satisfaction playing at lower stakes.

used to be id go play some crazy luckbox poker type game to gamble at the same stakes.. like id play 5 card draw on 24h I think it was.

i guess you can play mixed games on ftp now.

Wow, Tarath (the creator of both TableNinja products) is amazing. I posted a fairly detailed problem in his thread, he answered it in 3 hours PERFECTLY. No "I'll get back to you", or "Can you explain more", just a super pin-pointed answer that fixes the problem perfectly.

Apparently Windows 7 has a feature where if a certain input stimuli doesn't respond for a time period (i.e. the right click that is my bet button lags via TNFT (which happens often enough) it will eventually be shut down as the bet button and will only function as the right click).

His solution was to map my mouse buttons via an external program, to keyboard buttons and then run those keyboard buttons through TN. I guess we'll see in my next session if it fixes the problem, but i'm giddy with how great he is at customer service.

IFS, take a few weeks off and you'll feel better. You don't need the money, which is one of the reasons that you have such a rush when playing big and you don't really "care" about it. You're a winning player at 18, don't blow it by turning degen and killing all of the run goot you've had this year
12-26-2009 , 06:36 PM
Even a $300 donkament would be preferable to spewing at your stakes, no?

Also, I'll play spades if I'm drinking and worried about spew.

Yeah, this is probably the advice. Thanks

Yeah, I guess. But it's still not the same rush/feeling as high stakes cash games. I feel so baller when playing high stakes
12-26-2009 , 07:51 PM
play deeper at safer stakes so you'll feel the rush just bc you have more money on the table anyway?
