I don't know how you guys being down with -7, -8, or God forbid more than -10 BI's in EV deal with it. Almost every time I get 2 outed or they hit gin on the river, all I can think of is, "I'm down one BI when I should be UP one BI". That's a two BI swing in my mind. Then to top it off, not only do I need to win BACK the two BI's to get to my "emotional" break-even line, I need to win ANOTHER one to be up an additional BI I lost to begin with.

To me, one -EV BI down, equates to three BI's needed to be earned. Sick way to look at it, eh?

Don't you have a habit of always clicking on the cashier? That's my problem

EV is the most overrated thing on the planet. Ignore it.

My habit is refreshing my session stats. Ever since one of my -11BI days hit me without knowing it a few months, there is a bit of stop-loss paranoia for me. I refresh every couple dozen hands and make sure my VPIP and session profit are both within check.

I thought "sample size" was very important. With out it, the stats are pointless and don't represent anything.

Hopefully he's not one of those guys that goes bust after one day.

And running 1BI under EV sucks. I think I lost almost all my allins where I was ahead except for one where the villain was drawing dead. One was a coinflip, but the other three I was a 70% favorite.

I'll take it as a brag that I didn't get tilted. For as good as I've been running my poker career, I deserve a few sessions under EV.

That is not entirely correct. While stats from large samples are more reliable, small samples still give you information, in particular if those stats are out of whack. If somebody open-raises his first three hands at the tables it's safe to assume he's not a nit.

not entirely true

you just need to be able to judge how useful certain stats are after a certain number of hands

you don't need 5000 hands to tell what type of player someone is

wrong mindset

correct mindset: "it'll even out if I play some more hands"

Hey Mr.Global Warming, what up?

We should have mediterranean weather up here and not this ****ing snow storm imo?

When will you lay your hand upon this snow and vaporize it?

AND WHERE THE **** ARE ALL THE SNOWPLOWS???
12-17-2009 , 08:14 AM
Ironically, global warming could well lead to a new ice age in Europe.
