I need your help guys ..
Ive gone back to 6 max and will be getting some coaching of a good player from another forum ..
But it has thrown up a debate about why i played FR for so long, it has got other FR players questioning why they play FR and not 6 max ..
Im looking for some feed back from you FR regs as to the merits of FR over 6 max ..
Im defending FR as i have too because i played it for so long ... but the arguement that FR is a better option than 6 max is pretty thin .
I can understand that FR is more appealing at $100nl plus as you can get some decent returns on bonus's / RB etc and playing a load of tables increases this nicely ..
FR at stakes of $25 or lower seems more of a grind than a lucrative proposition... i should know
But in todays FR enviroment you are faced with a shed load more short stackers, a low level of fishes and the ones that are out there are attacked by 7 regs ..
You are also faced with very nitty types from whom you simply cant make a lot of money off over time .
Does the game become an auto pilot scenario with set mining and hopefully some coolers thrown in .. ?
What about post flop decisions ... ? are they less important because players are so tight preflop ...
The FR games are so much tougher nowadays .. even down to the micro levels ...
I know its not all doom and gloom ... just want to hear some positive arguements so i can defend the merits of FR in the other forum ..
What are your goals for the future .. ? .. does every player just want to increase his hourly rate by playing more and more tables ?
Lokking forward to some decent insight into your FR thinking
cheers
I just quit 50NL 6max to play 50NL FR instead
the swings at 6 max are real killers because of all the light 3betting/4betting + more marginal situations. Its also hard to play more than 6 tables if youre still a learning player
so if youre playing to get a more steady income (less swings and more rakeback if you play 9+ tables instead of 6 tables at 6max) FR is your game
but I think FR is pretty dry at the higher levels (but 50NL and 100NL are pretty profitable)
at 6max its easier to avoid lowstackers (there will be always min 1 at your table do)
6 max is more fun do with more flops you see per minute and more bluffing...
coming from 6 max I have to say FR looks very easy (only play 3K hands)
its easier to put on ranges pre, its easier to steal and most players play pretty bad postflop and just c/f
oh and what you say about nits its no true, they are profitable in the long run because you can steal their blind all day long + they play overpairs like a set (against these players its very profitable to setmine) + very easy to assign ranges
