anyone know PandasWatchPorn from 50nl? I go to start a deep table and he sits to my left and tells me he doesn't want to play HU. So I offer to start a table with him, but explain to him why sitting to my left is kind of rude and he acts like a complete ass. I really don't care, but I'm curious to see what others know of him.

He is a squatter, every time you start a table he reserves his seat and sits out. He's not alone, I hate those people.

would you hate him less if he asked? i think it's fine to sit out if you ask first. maybe something along the lines of 'i'll play when we have >4 players. is that alright with you?' what do you guys think?

some people are just not comfortable playing HH and i rather have him seating there instead of 8 open seats which might be even more intimidating to fish?

I use to own him HU on the NL50 deep tables.

So you fold to a limp/min 3bet from an absolute drooler after there is another drooler in the pot? $0.50 more into a $3+ pot with 2 droolers where we likely have the best hand..

Nope he's reserving his seat waiting for fish and I find that highly unethical. If he doesn't want to play he doesn't sit, wait for couple people to join then he joins and play. What would you say if you saw that happen live in a cardroom ? Couple regs chatting without playing, as soon as you sit in they all play... I think fish may notice and it may kill some action.

I don't like playing shorthanded unless there is a fish...

Super mega RIO hand OOP if it's even ahead... no thanks. Literally valueraising A9o from sb vs 3 potentially 4 opponents is not gonna put you in a lot of good spots doesn't even matter who your villains are. That's just setting yourself up for the pain...

it's the internet and the anonymity plays a big part here. plus i don't think it's fair to say he's waiting for fish. after all, i usually can't identify fish until i've played a few hands with them.

my POV remains that if he asked, it's fine as some people just don't feel comfortable playing shorthanded. and i rather have him there so that when another 1/2 players join, we can get going with 4-5 players which usually means that the table will fill up pretty fast. i've seen tables where 2 players play heads-up and it takes awhile for others to join.

having said that i don't join tables with 1 player because i don't feel comfortable playing heads up and i'm too lazy to ask if it's alright for me to sit out.
10-23-2009 , 01:31 AM
Ugh, tables were pretty reg-filled at 25 and 50 just now. Usually it's one or two fish per table, one or two bad shorties, one or two good shorties, a half-stacker or two, and a few regs. Instead it seemed like 1 fish, 1 tight shorty, and tons of regs at most tables.
10-23-2009 , 01:57 AM

When people do this to me all i do is type ??? in the chat and when they tell me that they want to wait for more people, i tell them its not my job to start tables for them and then i leave the table and open up and sit at a new one.

Will check tonight what I had, it's either 88-TTish or Q with weak kicker (kill myself if it was KQo)

If I would have bet $3 on the river, would you have raised?

$2 looks like a blocker bet/I have a weak made hand I want to see SD.

wp btw, teach me!

Ight, also ordered the FT Poker Bear... As from now (well, as from in the far future when I'll actually get it) my 'don't tilt' reminder and run-good/play-good mascot.

what are they like ?

Capped is different from pot limit. Pot limit means exactly that, you can't bet or raise more then the pot. Capped means there's a fixed max size the pot can be I believen...

About pot limit, I played some of them in the beginnen by accident (couldn't understand why I couldn't raise more or shove a draw :P) but they seemed fairly easy, wrt not too much different from no limit and they few times I played there the games were fine (25NL to 50NL).

No idea how it is now though.
10-23-2009 , 09:43 AM
yeah i thought so i just cant figure out where to find pot limit tables
