Poker Stars $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players

Hero (UTG): $51.70
CO: $123.80
BTN: $64.50
SB: $59.00
BB: $47.50

Pre Flop: Hero is UTG with K K
Hero raises to $2, CO calls $2, 1 fold, SB calls $1.75, 1 fold

Flop: ($6.50) T 9 8 (3 players)
SB bets $6, Hero calls $6, CO folds

Turn: ($18.50) 4 (2 players)
SB bets $14, Hero ???

Villain is 16.94/13.11 over 183 hands.

How am I supposed to play this? It seems like it's unlikely Villain will check the turn, so I'm not really gaining anything from calling the flop intending to fold the turn. But folding the flop seems nitty, though there is CO still to act (48.98/33.67) still to act who may wake up with something.

Raise the flop for a start. As played I think you can fold it now, the hand just got nasty as you didnt raise the flop. fold>shove>call?

yeah, i have to agree. raising the flop to see where you're at gives you pot control, and alot of information that you probably get for cheaper then if you're check/calling down.

Part of my logic in not raising is CO is still to act, so it's cheaper if CO has one of the many hands that could possibly hit this flop hard. The other problem with raising is that not only is SB quite likely to have me beat and even with hands that I'm not beat I could easily be bluffed out with. For instance, with 10 outs it would make a lot more sense for JJ (and 77) to just shove to a 3bet for some fold equity than call two streets, and I doubt I can call a reraise there. QQ could also do this to a lesser degree (partially with the logic that I can have JJ here myself). In fact, I don't really see anything in his range not shoving over my raise, except maybe some hands that I beat that fold.

raising flop is kinda meh, dont think worse calls too much and CO is still behind you, this guy really seems to want to play for stacks, I never get these spots, raising achieves nothing, folding is a bit weak and calling u have no idea where u stand.

I might call here and fold river to another bet, but rly no idea

I raise flop because the turn could bring LOTS of scarecards. And because I think there're a lot of pair+sd combo's in his range. As are some TP hands and meaby some pure air.

And I don't want to give odds to the player behind letting him draw to the straight. Plus with raising you'll get control of the hand (I think my default line would be bet/folding a rag turn and meaby value-betting a rag river)

And I don't think he'll shove all the smallish combo-draws he could have (pair+oesd or pair+gs)
