$0.10 NL - Holdem - 6 players Full Ring Table
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: $12.19
UTG: $15.19
MP: $10.35
CO: $10.88
Hero (BTN): $10.00
SB: $12.16 -> 17/11 (36)

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has T T

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.30, SB raises to $0.90, fold, Hero calls $0.60

Flop: ($1.90, 2 players) 7 6 J
SB bets $1.30, Hero calls $1.30

Turn: ($4.50, 2 players) J
SB checks, Hero bets $1.75, SB raises to $9.96 and is all-in, ???

After this hand I thought about the big sizing at the flop (1,30 in 1,90)...looks like protection. SB vs. BU he can have KJs, AJ, QJs, maybe JTs (J9s) in his Range.

But during the hand I thought maybe he bluff the flop and give up the turn.
And I want to freeze the hand with this bet and avoid maybe a huge bet and decision at the river... (If he try to bluff) And he can't call with OC and 3,5:1 Pot Odds

Turn check behind?

I think PF you can 4 bet. As played I’d check behind the turn.

pre is fine, especially against a 17/11. 4-betting with TT in this configuration was standard-ish 10 years ago but nowadays people 3-bet too little, and even the solver says it's a pure call (and we generally don't want to 4-bet more aggressively than solver unless we have a good read).

x behind turn. J is a good card for us, and I'd think we want to size up and bluff aggressively with our 98s/T9s/54s and make villain's TT/99 uncomfortable. We're not that concerned with denying equity.

Problem is that a nit like this is going to be overplaying QQ/KK/AA somewhat often. It's uncomfortable, but we'd prefer to x and give villain a chance to bluff river. And just folod, we should have enough Jx/77/66 to prevent villain from printing by bluffing us

Ha yeah I still have some old school poker wisdom in me. When I started studying the game no one played no limit cash games and the word “range” literally didn’t appear in any available poker books.

IIRC even stuff like the grinder's manual and janda's original book advocated for being loose like this, so it's not that crazy haha

If I recall correctly, Sklansky mentioned the term range or at least he alluded to it.

I'm sure it was alluded to in Theory of Poker or something similar. But I personally don't remember range being a serious topic until Pokerstove came on the scene and everyone could start figuring out equities.
