Green Joker Poker 0.20/0.40, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker

saw flop | saw showdown

Button ($20.22)
SB SB ($42.19)
BB ($45.13)
UTG ($4.30)
UTG+1 Hero ($21.40)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A Q
1 fold, Hero raises to 0.80, 1 fold, SB calls 0.70, 1 fold.

Flop (1.80) 4 5 A
SB bets 1.80, Hero calls 1.80.

Turn (5.40) J
SB bets 2.70, Hero calls 2.70.

River (10.80) K
SB bets 5.40, Hero calls 5.40

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reads: Villain is 60/15/1.6 and seems fishy

PF: Standard

Flop: I kind of froze here. I'm not sure should I raise and fold. If he's betting with a draw, then I should probably raise the flop or the turn. I thought raising turn would be a option, but pot control might be better. Not sure what is the best line because villain is betting strong

Turn: Seems like a value bet, but I just can't fold yet to such a smallish bet. Should I fold or raise. Raising the flop might have been better?

River: I such a ATM for calling here.

If you suspect that he is leading weak, maybe with a FD, this is a valid line to take .. tho many will just bomb the flop

1. Rebuy to a full stack.
2. Never ever ever minraise PF, it's only standard if you're a huge fish.

I guess you should raise the flop as played but tbh you have way bigger problems with your game than just being too passive.

The converter is not right, it's actually .10/.20 not .20/.40 as the SB is clearly .10.

well 1st let me thank you for makinga detailed post.

pfr pot it or 3.5xbb - 1.4 for many reasons -see sticky uNL essential collection @ top of this forum.
ok seems the convertor messed up - my mistake.

I raise flop as flop is drawy and for value vs villian (assuming stats valid he has alot Ax here) but calling is fine too, although when the jack and king come off on the river we beat AT- , if he is passive i fold river.

oh, haha, oops. Yeah, in that case I'd just say raise the flop.

i think it was a well thought out post -just shame the convertor messed up and caught us both out.

re: the hand because we don't have the betting lead is the reason we don't know where we stand. If we call to keep pot small then should follow our plan and fold the river imho.

Your line looks ok, but sometimes I would raise the flop. As played, on the turn I don't see much value in raising as AJ could be a big part of his range and AT probably won't call a turn raise.

I would often raise the flop, but since he potted it I don't mind calling down in position to continue letting him bluff if he's got worse and/or control the size of the pot vs. better.

If he was to lead weak I would raise almost always.

I'm off in a bit but I prob fold river as played as I said above somewhere if you call to go for a smaller pot i.e. 2 streets. if I raised flop and he flatted i'd prob jam turn.
