Good old multi-way pot. Think there's merits to all sorts of different actions on flop/turn

i'd rate flop check and bet at similar value. i def prefer turn call but it's no biggie.

Bet flop. BB you are getting called by any 9x 6x and bunch pf SD.
I don't get turn raise. Are we bluffing or value betting? It's too strong to bluff and probably too weak to value raise.

I would probably call riv. It's pretty disgusting spot.

When deciding whether to bet the flop with middle pair I use a few criteria. Is my hand vulnerable? Can I get worse to call? Can I buy position?

Usually there is going to be some turn vulnerability, but if there aren't too many worse hands that can call, I'd still check. You have the BTN so you don't need to buy position.
But in this case there are tons of straight and flush draws that can call this flop, so I like a flop value bet.

The turn is pretty thin. Your sizing is too small to get any real better hands to fold and while your equity is good it's not good enough to do this for value. CO is a fishy player which makes we want to bluff a lot less. I generally don't like turning the NFD into a bluff when their sizing makes call +EV, because you could end up turning a +EV call into a -EV raise. It doesn't always mean raising can't be the better play, but if raising is a mistake the cost becomes very high because you passed up the +EV call to make it.

River I can go either way on. He's a fishy player but this is probably a K or better often enough that fold is good. I don't think we have enough hands on him to make an exploitative call.
