He didn't give me any choice really, playing the part of schoolyard bully.
He sat with me a couple times, and when I pointed out that there were certainly easier spots out there, he went on a rant about how I was "stealing" all his action by 3-tabling 200s (I actually usually have to mix in 100s as well, but occasionally I'll have 3 200s running at once), how I didn't belong at the 200s, because my ROI at them is only 1%, and told me he was going to sit with me every time he saw me at the 200s, so I should move back down to the 100s, and generally just being a complete *******.
After I stopped laughing my ass off at the fact that somebody was actually trying to bully me back down to the $100 level (and seriously, I can't even type this without chuckling at least a little bit), I decided to let him have his way and play him for a while.
At first I was declining rematches and sitting at a new table, in hopes that he'd let me play somebody else, but eventually I gave up on that and just started accepting rematches, and we ended up 3 tabling for quite a while.
Something like 5 hours and 52 matches later, my wife woke up for the morning and chewed me out for staying up all night, so I finished the 3 I was in at the time.
He's definitely not a horrible player by any means (which I figured in the first place, which is why I don't sit with him), but he ran ridiculously well, always ending up at the very top of his range (and I swear to god I have NEVER seen anybody make so many backdoor flushes before), so I got the chips in bad a *ton*. Way more than usual, and I'm pretty good at getting money in bad. Fortunately, although he ran like god before the chips went in, I ran really good after they went in. Which also meant that I got to hear bitching and whining about how he was outplaying me left and right, how good I was running, and how bad I am.
I ended up winning 27 out of the 52, for an overall loss of about $120 after rake.
WHICH IS WHY IT IS GENERALLY -EV TO PLAY OTHER DECENT PLAYERS. Even if you think you have a slight edge, there are easier spots, and Full Tilt was the only real winner there. Although I guess after rakeback I ended up with a *very* slight profit. Like $20 or something. gogo gadget hourly rate! :/
He's definitely not as good as he thinks he is though (yeah, it must be *really* tough to "outplay" somebody and get them to call with worse in spots where they have a strong hand, but you always manage to show up with the nuts), and I'm definitely not as bad as he thinks I am. Which just makes him even a bigger idiot for trying to bully me back down to the 100s (lol, seriously, I still cant even type about that part of it without chuckling), because even if he does have an edge, it's certainly not going to be a big one. And frankly, I'm pretty sure I have an edge on him, despite the fact that I got chips in bad over and over and over and over and...um...over and over and...phew...over and over and...
bleh
But even if I do think I have an edge, it's not so big that I wouldn't still prefer to play really bad players who generally make for easier and much shorter games.
Somewhat amusing part of the whole ordeal was that at one point, another reg with good sharkscope stats (walchy) came to one of the tables and talked to STRIKE2 for a minute. STRIKE told walchy to IM him, and I presume he was telling walchy what a huge fish I was, because not too long after that, walchy sat with me for one game, and I'm pretty sure it was orchestrated between the two of them, because STRIKE was sitting me every time I popped up a new table, but he didn't sit that one. LOL at tag-team online bullying. walchy only played one game though, I guess being intelligent enough to realize it probably wasn't a good spot, even if he had an edge. (and I beat him anyway)
Anyway, I expect he'll continue to sit me, so I doubt this is the last T28333 vs STRIKE2CALLED marathon. Not sure what else to do other than just play him, even though I realize it's probably a -EV spot. I mean, I guess I could go back to the 100s when he's online, but that seems more than just a little bit ridiculous.
