Villain was relatively new and seemed aggro/reggish. Had been playing back a bit but nothing significant so far. Was 27/17 over a small sample. I had been rly aggro on the table in the start, had 4bet bvb once already. BB was tagish/nittish.

$2/$4 No Limit Holdem
4 Players
Hand Conversion Powered by weaktight.com

Stacks:
Hero (CO) ($428)
BTN ($400)
SB ($196)
BB ($565)

Pre-Flop: ($6, 4 players) Hero is CO J Q
Hero raises to $12, BTN calls $12, 1 fold, BB calls $8

Flop: A 7 7 ($38, 3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $24, BTN raises to $68, BB folds, Hero calls $44

Turn: Q ($174, 2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $160, Hero ?

I normally never do this but I thought on flop his range is mostly bluffs since he doesn't really have any Ax he can raise here besides maybe AQ and I have a blocker for that. He can have 67s or 78s but I honestly think people would just flat their monsters here a lot so his range is mostly bluffs.

I thought if I call his flop raise my hand looks so strong he's not gonna try to barrel and when he checks turn I can bet river and win the pot. Or improve like I did but he bet...

Yeti'ish

However, you're correct that when you 3-bet I think people will be capable of making moves against this line in NL400 almost next to nothing

Would anyone really 3bet the flop with any part of their range? Isn't playing Ax and better like this on a constant basis super std?

So you're saying just 3bet even if it doesn't rep anything they'll stil fold their air?

No I don't

Calling rep's well big Ax and it takes balls from Villain to keep repping the 7 if they will, knowing that you'll rarely fold a good ace. (And you can also have the 7x)

They might occasionally do it if they're stubborn, but usually calling his raise saves money vs 3-betting

W/ this particular hand and I like the flop 3bet much better too. Also wtf @ not being able to rep anything? Against many opponents I'd 3bet/get in AK and such. Either way, I'd rather just float a c/r w/ some hand that can catch a draw or something on the turn like 89cc or something
