Hi, I'm beating microstakes reasonably well without a HUD. I have used some free trials from HM and PT4 and know how to use it, but I feel more comfortable without one. Am I giving up a big edge? (I only play zoom).
I just prefer to keep things simple at micros, anyone else feel the same?

Things get even simpler with a HUD.

No it's not essential for beating games. It's not at all necessary to have a HUD for poker if you can play sufficiently well (but to be clear, you can't/won't/shouldn't play in ways in which negate the usefulness of a HUD).

It's essential if you want to study the game and your opponents, which will be key for you improving.

It's a few dollars for something that will pay for itself if you beat even the lowest levels.

data mining will undoubtedly help you learn the game in ways not possible without it. I used pt4 for a year and a half. I haven't used pt4 in 4 months now and have been doing better than when I was looking at numbers. I gained a great feel for poker with pt4 and many repetitions, now I go HUDless. If I had not used pt4 for over a year I would not be nearly the player I am now. when I get back to 50nl+ I will probably start using pt4 again.

Not essential but allows you to play more tables while still having some information about your opponents.
