looool i dont know how high this guy plays but lmfao it was hilarious

like 3rd hand in i 3b 97o and flop 954r i b 120, call t 8s i b 150, call riv 2h i ship and get value outta 64, vnext hand he ships 100bb in pre, i fold, he does it again, i fold...

ten the trash talk begins, loool he starts saying how bad i am (lol?) and challenging me to higher stakes. i counter that i only have 3k on stars and can't (hopefully to tilt him more if he was at all).

basically he's just acting like a douche and playing ******ed. i decide to 4bet bluff him with T8, he snaps it OOP with T7, so I know he doesn't have a big hand. flop AKx and he crai and shows it, looooooooool.

I say, "you played that hand well" -- and move on to next hand. he's obviously taking this personally as he keeps going on and on and im literally loling in my chair having no idea where this anamosity is coming from.

so i raise 68 flop K75r he cr me 40 to 140, i call intending to shove turns as i dont think he's strong here, or slowplay if i hit, which I do binking the 4ball. he bets 110 i flat TARP loool

river a brick and he bets 3xx i ship he calls and insta sits out, i start loling in chat and then he re-appears on the rail. at this point i almost **** my pants with joy cause this guy is either A) ******ed or B) so incredibly drunk he has no idea what he is doing.

he starts challenging me to play on FTP but i wont tell him my sn looool and then he finally is gone.

man that made my week. thx sir for the 2k gift wrapped.

I LOVE STARS!

Also, someone pointed out to me according to tableratings, Nofx34 wins $1 at a hand and has been for the last 180k hands.

Seriously, wtf? That dude is beyond bad. He sits all day with 25-45BB, totally random amounts. Gaaaaaaaah.

gl @ NL 200 regs on FTP waiting 5 hours for a game rather than improving their game by watching videos/getting coached and playing even against better players.

what makes you think you can't watch videos while waiting for tables?
what makes you think people who wait for tables at one time are doing it mutually exclusively to being coached at another time? what makes you think same re: videos?
what makes you think that at 1/2 player has the option of playing a better player all the time? frequently without moving up stakes there is no option to do so, and frequently a winning 1/2 player will find basically no one at 2/4 willing to play them.

i don't know what "eating each other up" means?
if it means competing away the money until some are broke or move down, i don't see why you would think that's in equilibrium, given that there is no way of forcing one player to play another.

considering rake 1/2 regs playing eachother doesnt make a ton of sense. But sitting around waiting all day for donks to buy in for their $94.50 isnt the way to go either.

Eating each other means competing against each other because ultimately that is where all the money is. Game selection is obviously important, but you can make more money playing a bad reg that refills than a onetime fish who donates 189 dollars. This does not mean that the best 1/2 reg should be trying to play the 2nd best 1/2 reg or vice versa; it just means good regs should be eating up bad regs while waiting for action.

This applies to all limits, but 1/2 was the limit mentioned.

cftw,

it is true that everyone who is supposedly "actively trying to play poker" should play whomever exists that they think they have a good enough edge on for it to be worthwhile (and we will not here rehash debates about what size edge is big enough because they are all stupid and played out). however, the good regs need willing participants. it doesn't matter if they have a 10ptbb/100 edge on the bad regs, if the bad regs won't play them. and in general, that's the case. they could go around trying to table block the bad regs all day, but it's really not worth it. every once in a while you can get a bad reg to lock up 2 or 3 tables against you, and yes, you should do that, even if your edge is smaller than against the random short stacker or whatever, agreed. it's just that saying that the good regs should be eating the bad regs seems to imply that the bad regs are willing participants.

good regs can become bad regs right before your eyes if you lay a beat or two or do some soul ownage.

if the long term goal is to make money then ssnl hu players should be concerned with playing as much as possible and improving.

Meaning what, exactly?

Moving up and winning more $ at a smaller ptbb/100 winrate?

meaning who cares if you are a 25ptbb/100 winner if you table select so "well" that you only play enough villains for an hour a week

or if you are a 10ptbb/100 winner 1 tabling but a 5ptbb/100 winner 4 tabling
