So they change to KOTH at midstakes at what a few months ago? Feels like they didn't even give it a fair shot.

I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't cut HU completely.

If too many 100+ regs make 50 zoom their new focus it could become permanently unplayable, for everyone. Zoom actually requires pretty strong table selection ability and I've seen a lot to suggest regs you would think have it figured out either don't or are/were willing to play extremely thin edges. I think you're probably right though, the fish plus the bad regs will make it softer overall, at least at first. But the problem is that you or Samoooth or DANMERRRRR types 4 tabling is a huge strain on the pool. With 3 or 4 good regs 4 tabling there better be a hell of a lot of fish. If you sit down and do the math making realistic assumptions you just can't have many entries at all vs people you aren't clearly beating post rake.

I think its another dumb move by Amaya that won't accomplish anything save slowly killing off total volume even faster than its baseline rate of decline. Anyway what is HU, 1% of their total revenues? Hope its worth all the badwill for no discernible benefit. Also there is no doubt that a good portion of HU players are on the site primarily to play HU and are poor candidates to cross sell yolo lotto sht to.

I'm actually rooting for these people to fail at this point and am not on board with the legalization efforts in the US any longer because of them.

I guess if we have patience though they should run it into the ground within 3 years or so.

huh? arent all tables the same? i used to battle for tables everyday, now i just look up people who i know are not willing to play me and take their tables

e: @Judge, what you're saying is sometimes true, but most of the lineups are still very much beatable, most of the new regs are terrible, the only good "new" reg is c1ubber, who dropped down to nl50 recently. And above nl100 rake is much lower, so one fish entry can sustain 5-6 reg entries easily.

ya lol.

If ya haven't already figured it out, pokersites aren't, have never and will never be your friend unless you're a fish. just stop trying to make compromises with them, they seriously do not give 2 ****s about you.

the games always been a hustler/huksta/predatory game. Doing all this **** like calling fish "recs", changing lobbys so fish can browse games easy, protecting fish BR, blah blah w/e is all BS for the most part.

imo poker will never die, just get harder. I think only way to truly revive is through social media Dan Blizarian style....I mean, imagine like 10 DB's on Social media with a constant daily update of babes, boobs, drugs, guns, w/e else with the # of #pokermoneys.

all those saying gg hu can someone explain why? since there is on average usually around 2 x $0.25/$0.50 regular tables going, while at the same time there are 20 player playing $0.25/$0.50 zoom for instance?

Haven't dabbled in zoom very much at all, so not really sure how awful this move was for me, or us. But HUNL is the only game I've had a lot of success in, in like, 8 years, and to think about the fact that Stars and FTP are now both HUNLless (in the traditional sense) is pretty ****ing sad. Damn.

Thank you for your email.

We are very sorry that you look at the change in this way.

As you aware, Head-Up cash games have been removed from the lobby. This change occurred at NLHE, FLHE and PLO heads-up tables. It is still possible to play Heads-Up games at the replacement ZOOM Heads-Up tables for the poker variants in question.

This change to our game offering was to improve the playing experience for our recreational players.

We appreciate that not every player will be happy with this change, as is the case with any change.

Please let me know if I can assist you further, and thank you for playing at PokerStars.

Regards,

Vincent

From business standpoint it's understandable. They gave a chance to 30-50th regs in list to battle rake for tables a bit and then make it zoom where top10 can battle. No point to make it zoom overnight where 30-50th regs quit instantly.
But yeah... gg.

so how can i now boost my ego by challenging tough regs to 3 tabling matches? oh i can just spin zoom with them, nice.

WOW! GG.

[quote]This change is part of our commitment to reducing predatory behaviour and improving the recreational player experience.[quote]

This is so cynical. POKERS STARS do it NOT to protect recreational players, but to keep their business alive and make those recs feed their rakes among each other with smallest amount of professionals around.

Nice way to murder my favorite form of poker and not giving me a choice to play man on man game anymore.

RIP HU

Other sites generally copy pokerstars aswell. Id imagine in the coming months a bunch of the remaining sites to offer HU will be following stars lead.
