I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't cut HU completely.

If too many 100+ regs make 50 zoom their new focus it could become permanently unplayable, for everyone. Zoom actually requires pretty strong table selection ability and I've seen a lot to suggest regs you would think have it figured out either don't or are/were willing to play extremely thin edges. I think you're probably right though, the fish plus the bad regs will make it softer overall, at least at first. But the problem is that you or Samoooth or DANMERRRRR types 4 tabling is a huge strain on the pool. With 3 or 4 good regs 4 tabling there better be a hell of a lot of fish. If you sit down and do the math making realistic assumptions you just can't have many entries at all vs people you aren't clearly beating post rake.
I think its another dumb move by Amaya that won't accomplish anything save slowly killing off total volume even faster than its baseline rate of decline. Anyway what is HU, 1% of their total revenues? Hope its worth all the badwill for no discernible benefit. Also there is no doubt that a good portion of HU players are on the site primarily to play HU and are poor candidates to cross sell yolo lotto sht to.
I'm actually rooting for these people to fail at this point and am not on board with the legalization efforts in the US any longer because of them.
I guess if we have patience though they should run it into the ground within 3 years or so.
