I am writing you concerning the recent changes to the NL HU tables. I think it is a really bad change. It will lead to less action, and thus to less rake paid to you. I know this was most likely not your decision as it is network-wide, but I urge you to make your complaints heard to Microgaming.
I don't know how the situation is at small stakes, so I'll only talk about the high stakes games I play in.

What is wrong with the new system/why you should go back to the old:

1) The vast majority of action (and thus rake generated) at these stakes comes from regulars playing eachother on multiple tables. I'd guess that more than 75% of my action was vs regulars, not vs fish. They do this because each one thinks he has an edge, and to get to sit at the table waiting for the fish. That action is now gone, as you've made it impossible for 2 regs to play eachother in a convenient way, without the risk of some random other reg jumping in.

2) You are the only big site offering € NLHU games. For quite a bunch of people, 10/20$ is too low and 25/50$ is too high. The 10/20€ stake is a great in-between. Same goes for 25/50$, 50/100$ and 25/50€. People agreed on other sites to play your games for this reason. Now that you've made it impossible to set up a reg match, that action is gone and people will just play on your competitors (read: Pokerstars).


3) It will make bumhunting much worse. Now that you have shown screennames again, people are free to join a blaze table, and often if the other people playing are screennames from regulars they recognize they will just quit after a couple of hands. It's easy to monitor the lobby, sit in once in a while, see if a fish is playing, and if not sit out again. I'm not making this up, this has been happening since the second day you made it blaze-only. People have no reason to play unless a fish is in the pool, and they can check easily. This needs to stop in some way (making it impossible to see how many people are in the pool from the lobby would help a bit). If you want people to play hands and generate rake, you have to give them an incentive to do so. Make them actually play some hands before they get an idea how many players are in the pool and who is in the pool.

This is not to say the old system was perfect. For example, sometimes I had all 15 10/20€ tables and was busy playing on another site or was away from my computer. If a fish wants to join 10/20€ then, he has nobody to play against. However, you can easily solve this by capping the amount of tables each player can sit on at each stake. If one player can only occupy say half the tables at each stake, you've solved this problem. This would be my preferred system.


Whatever you do, you need to change something. And change it in such a way that people have a reason to play eachother. As it is now, the changes you made will lead to the HU games generating less action and thus less rake.

Smarter software for HU

I'm interessted in knowing if it is somehow possible to detach some tables from the piling/stacking function on Stars and maybe other sites.

If I play a regmatch on 4 tables for example, it's nice to be able to have other tables opened aswell were I wait for people to sit me/bumhunt. It would be nice with a function that allows me to detach those tables from the others where I am playing = I want that piling/stacking tables does not include the bumhunt tables, so I can keep them for example on my other screen just waiting

Is it possible to do so as of now? Else I might suggest it to Stars to improve their software.

HM2/PT4 question... when i run my HM2 hud on multiple sites it makes viewing things in the program really laggy. anyone any tips on fixing this or should i just get PT4?

I'll guess the problem is the amount of time the HUD is spending querying the DB. Upgrading to a SSD would speed that up dramatically (if you don't already have one). That would certainly make more of a difference than anything else.

3 people out of 30 is almost certainly a higher amount of action than you'll ever get
