why does every single reg minraise pre from the button these days instead of 3x'ing or 2.5x at 100bb+

pretty sure 3x'ing is better and i know every1 will prolly disagree thinking minraise is best cuz u risk less and play a small ball strategy.

since ur gonna be very profitable from the button, might as well build a bigger pot in position and win more that way and also get villain to defend less hands from the BB if u 3x whereas if u minraise theyll defend a hand like Q7o which would fold to a 3x

then id flat a wider range of hands, float a good amount of flops and put villain in tuff spots on later streets. also gonna start 4betting light. but if theyre 3bet % is absurdly high like 35% plus id consider switching to the minraise and even limping some hands.

3betting a shytload doesnt really combat the 3x that well, instead theyll end up spewing off alot of chips postflop

Why is this a bad thing? I'd rather play IP against a range that wide than pick up the blinds from an extra 5-10% of his range that [i]might[/] fold based on our opening size.

not sure how to explain it but if we MINRAISE and they call with Q7o, they will have a better expectation by calling than folding. so instead of villain losing 1BB by folding they lose somthing like 0.75BB on average by defending it. so if we 3x it we pick up 1BB uncontested.

who says they cant call Q7 to a 3x? as BEAR JEW alluded to, your logic can go until we're just openjamming every hand we open, as villian is then playing the tightest possible oop range.

cuz you can open wider profitably against most opponents, more favourable spr for you in position in srp's/3bp's, they have to defend more hands oop etc. and the higher your edge the more you benefit from all this unless someone is making really obvious mistakes like calling pre with 60% of hands to pot open then i'd like to stick to that.

Im considering trying to sell some action to a UKIPT, before I make a thread in marketplace will my limited experience in tournaments just make me un-backable to the average buyer?

Pretty much asking if cash graphs etc wont seem relevant

is UKIPT a poker tournament? if you're a solid winning player (yes using your cash graphs is how you're going to sell this) at reasonable stakes i doubt ull have trouble selling action as long as ur not asking for markup or a high markup.

Yea its a 1k euro BI, I have little to no tournament experience but a solid winrate (11bb over 500k hands) and just wondering if people would kind of look at that as if its irrelevant (just how I would look at a MTT player showing me his crushing tournament graph if he wanted me to stake him for HU)

UKIPT = UK & IRELAND POKER TOUR. Sponsored by PokerStars. The same as EPT, LAPT, APPT, etc.

ye i'm pretty sure it would be very easy to sell with no markup. i think 1.10 would be pretty reasonable and would probably sell fine.

i for one like the idea of HU zoom format. not sure if microgaming is the network to take it forward.

That sucks, micro gaming is already the best site for reg action for me.

If they work it well it will probably still be the best for HU reg action.

I wonder if its gonna be non-anon zoom?

Also will there be more than one 8 man player pool per stake? People will start bum hunting each pool if so...

looks like its non anonymous and 2 pools per stake. new pools opening when others full, at a guess.
