I always run 3-5 mins before the training to warm up the body and then strech a bit. Also, for the first exercise make extra takes to warm up the muscle group.

There is a lot of contradictory information about running etc, but the best way to burn fat and make pressure to your stomach musculature is to run straight after exercising/lifting/training.

Doing cardio before the gym should be just for warming up because you need energy to lift weights.

Its more about the technique(lifting), general knowledge and the eating that makes you grow or loose weight so pay extra attention to it.
