You'll never get a solid answer imo (unless people have databases with like 300-500k deep HU hands and the same amount of normal), but I'd guess the effect is pretty big. Aren't the players willing to play deep a lot better though on average?

Also, playing deep is gay. While your edge is magnified so is the effect of variance in the information game, which just sucks. Get me those 125bb deep capped tables already. /mini-rant

why is fees even trying to sit NL50 and grind HU for the rest of the month to win a $2500 propbet? That's like 1 buyin at normal stakes unless he's busto

His ev in the bet still cant justify him playing NL50 if he is a NL2k-NL5k reg.

At this point even if silent is 50/50 to win UGL it wouldnt be worth his time to massively grind NL50 to save the 12.5k in EV instead of just playing his normal stakes where that is less than what you make or lose in a day.

He still doing that? It was already ruled that his action won't count towards the leader board.

regarding deep play, obviously there is an advantage when you get deeper if you have an edge overall. There is an inflection point however i imagine where your rate doesnt increase relative to the stack sizes (like the difference in edge from 100-200 would be a lot greater than the jump 700-800 for instance). what that point is i dont know because like kaby said we dont have a big enough database to know for sure.

id imagine if you graphed it it would look like an ecosystem carrying capacity, where it increases at a highish rate and decreases slowly as the stacks get deeper, then levels off at some point.

This is how I imagine it too, but here's a good question, would you expect to have more then double your typically winrate at 200bb effective, or less?

I think people are a lot nitter when they get deep.

People don't 3b as much. They don't have a problem 3barreling for 100bb, but a lot of people don't deep.

without trying to sound paranoid here, suppose someone put a key in my pc manually (broke in) and can watch my screen, bypassing my viruscanner. How can i detect this? Lost huge amount of money (over 40bi) to a few people sporadically last year. They played pretty terrible (playing 80% oop). A few things i found v suspicious about these people as they all had kinda the same style. They ran v hot, but at times i felt theyr timing was a bit too good. You can never be sure enough with these things..

I've had like 3 sessions like this against people who were playing super terribly. It might be bad, but I just quit them (although this was @ 200nl, so it seems like somebody who could cheat/hack your screen wouldn't waste their time at low stakes).

I've definitely had my moments where I broke out the tin foil hat after getting god moded. Not sure i ever lost 40 BI's to a single person, but definitely have multiple sessions where I lost 20+

There are ton's of measures you can take to protect yourself and ton's of info about how to do this in the technical forums. If you want to get really secure you can always get an external hardware firewall the literally only lets you connect to poker sites. You wouldn't even be able to google for porn!
