Btw for anyone who followed my career posts a week and a half ago, since then I have had the trading interview I was looking forward to. I don't hear back for 1.5 weeks. It was tough... But he said at the end someone like me could achieve a lot in the company within 5 years so maybe that is a good sign.

I have also landed some final round interviews at some consultancy firms.

This is the first month in about two years where I have played less than 5k hands of poker and I am also the happiest I have felt probably for the whole of 2010.

Life out there in the real world working 9-5 maybe isn't so bad after all.

What kind of education do you have/need? Is a degree in a relevant field enough or are they looking for people with even higher education like masters level?

A degree is easily enough for consultancy. A masters helps for banks. Brand name is everything - you need to have attended a well regarded uni.

Banking recruitment is dire right now but there's a lot of amazing opportunities in consultancy and the people I have met at interviews have made a big impression upon me.

I think over the last year I have fallen into the trap that poker is the only/best way to make money. There are some great opportunities out there, especially when you look long term and think about what you will be earning in 10 years time rather than the attitude 'but with poker I can make an easy xxx k per year' right now.

I am educated to masters level.

Is it with WhateverSon? With lots of stringent rules such as no 4bet bluffing, no OTT 3betting, no overbetting, cam2cam for reads etc?

What's astonishing is that durrrr and jungleman agreed before starting that they'd do 5k per month min, meaning they would let it run for 10 months if they felt like it. Yet nothing was ever said about this when they were blogging/ tweeting / publicizing it.

I'm probably gonna buy out of my bets at this stage, booked them for a small sweat but not even interested in having the burden of them hanging over me for months on end now.

Just a quick stats question, having a pretty bad month and am running through stats trying to find leaks and establish how much of it is just run bad, one thing that sprung out to me was that i'm a loser with final hands of two pair over 1600 hands (winning 60% at SD) and one pair over 4,000 hands (winning 53% at SD - but losing 2bb.hand on average).
Are other people in the green for high cards/1 pr and /2pr hands (despite the fact I haven't managed to filter out when paired board contributes to 2 pr hands). Or is 4000 one pair hands etc not near enough sample to draw any conclusion?
