BTN: $798.75
SB: $403.88
BB: $244.10
UTG: $828.90
Hero (CO): $416.00

SB posts SB $2.00, BB posts BB $4.00

Pre Flop: (pot: $6.00) Hero has T K

fold, Hero raises to $12.00, BTN calls $12.00, SB calls $10.00, BB calls $8.00

Flop: ($48.00, 4 players) J 8 7
SB checks, BB checks, Hero

SB is 39/32 and is relatively active postflop. It's a small sample and he may turn out to be an over active reg or a loose aggro fish. At think point I think he is somewhere in between.

BB is new to the table but is looking like a passive/bad half stack reg.

BTN is a good regular playing 25/20/8. He likely perceives me as a tightish, solid reg that doesn't get out of line often.

Once there are 2 checks in front of me, should I be cbetting this flop? I do have some equity and some backdoors, but the flop is very connected. I feel like the aggro SB is somewhat likely to just lead flop with many hands that connected. BB is more passive so may check some stronger hands like KJ/AJ, but being that its multiway he may opt to protect his hand and lead.

My worry is that BTN will fire very often when I check and force me off my equity bc I can't really c/c. But is the fact that its 4 ways mean that I will not have enough FE to make this a good cbet?

If I were to cbet and get flatted by the BTN, would I be giving up unless I turn more equity?

If we were OTB instead of CO, and it was still 4 ways to flop, would we fire the flop when everyone checks?

My standard is to c/f here, but sometimes I feel as tho I give up too easily in spots like this. Interested to hear some opinions.

Personally I don't like to cbet here where a passive/bad player and a loose seeming semi unknown have checked when we have a non nut one card straight draw. I just don't see you getting folds quite often enough. I also think that the button will be unlikely to fire too wide here, for much the same reasons that its a hard spot to justify a cbet from yourself.

If you were to bet here and be called by the button, it shows considerable strength on his part. You'd have to put him on at least a Jack right? Do you think that he might fold a hand like KJ if you barrel the turn, putting you on an overpair or better? It seems thats what would have to happen to make a turn bet good..

no way. you likely aren't getting paid when you hit and you have K high in a 4 way pot...

i find it hard even to cbet QT on J86 4way, this is a clear fold

I check fold here, sometimes it gets checked through as well. If you c-bet and just get called it is tempting to fire 3 which may well be the correct play, but it is a road that I generally choose not to go down.

I check fold here. A more interesting spot for discussion is if you were the button 4 handed or of it was 3 handed with you in middle position, this becomes a bet. As it stands 4 handed, this decision seems clear.
