I feel that shame a lot. So very common for me to give up on a bluff line only to find villain was calling down with some **** draw that binked bottom pair on the river. I don't hate how he played it honestly. Betting the turn with his hand is money printing though.
One thing I've found is you can try to profile players all day long based on preflop stats, but river aggression seems to be a bit unpredictable. Yes, many nits have weak river aggression, but many fish are way out of line, especially when we take a really passive line, they just attack.
