I'm working on preflop BB defense range. I know it can get tricky as proper defend ranges can vary a bit based on sizing. 63s is one of those cusp hands. Anyone know if we defend it here?

Villain's sizing has us pot committed if we continue, so this is a shove or fold spot. If villain had AA, I think he would go smaller to try and lure us in. Clear shove imo. Play the player, not the cards.

The charts say it's a pure call vs. BU 2.5x. 25x is only different by one '.' so probably still call.

Why do poker players retire so quickly? Compared to other sports/professions 10y is relatively short.

just speculating but i think the nature of poker speeds up things that most people go through in a career. mass multi-tabling is a super intensive workout for the brain. throw in large monetary swings, grinding a job that you can go weeks/months without making any money, one that doesn't offer much in the way of social interaction or feeling of satisfaction/contributing to society.

got to the point where i wasn't enjoying playing and didn't need to anymore, so i just stopped!

Thats an awesome place to be. Mind sharing how you make money these days? I'm assuming you got into some form of investing. I ask because I'd like to eventually get into investing myself. Right now poker is my ticket to raise the type of funds you need to make it worthwhile.

sure. yeh, stock market global index trackers, real estate, btc, forex broker. if you can, it's a good idea to be investing any amount of money that you're making and don't plan on using short-term and get that compounding going rather than sitting and getting eaten by inflation.

i think i have to say that this is not financial advice now?
