Donk Bets @ NL 50 Theory Question(s)

Not sure if this is normal or not, but I've been running into a TON of players who consistently donk bet postflop OOP. I'm not a huge fan of just calling the donk bet postflop and lean to more of a raise/fold attitude. However, I've ran into problems raising dry boards with the intention of a bluff.
Example:
Dealt K8 on the button, Opponent Limps, I check
Flop: 296 rainbow
Opponent: Donks .50 into a $1 pot.
Considering the dry texture of the board, I think this is a great opprutunity to raise my opponent. However, alot of these donks call down my raise with anything. Which leads me to my next question:
I know the basics of board texture but is there anything else I should be considering when raising a donk bet?
In addition, if I don't ever raise the donk bet, I find myself playing fit or fold poker and just waiting to make hands. And lately, I've been getting run over as much as a person can be run over by donk bets.
Finally, when raising a donk bet on a dry board as a bluff, what cards are good to double barrel on? I understand the basic definition of double barreling but other than that, I'm lost.
Appreciate all responses and if an earlier thread discusses theses isssues, please direct me towards it.

your opponent cant limp if you have the button brothaaaa...
anyway, guys that limp buttons a bunch and minbet the flop are the worst of the lot, they lose all the value from their hands in position.
someone donking into you after your button raise is a situation worth looking at

I think you're confused about the definition of a donk bet, your example doesn't make any sense. The way I usually try to counter donk bets is by calling down light to start with and getting to show down so I can see their donking range. If you know they are check/raising their monsters and donk/calling stuff like second pair you can just raise them relentlessly and use your positional advantage to make things really hard for them

donk betting = when they lead into you after you have initiative.. in a limp pot no one has initiative yet so it's not considered donking.
I have found that horrible players donk with top pair+ hands alot more often than decent players or anyone with half a brain for some reason. Try to get to showdown when they do so you can get some information on what they are donking with then adjust. if your opponent is decent then I tend to raise his first donk bets to see how he reacts

In my experience, donk bets are usually top pair+ hands or air, depending on the opponent. I've seen fish donk mid/bottom pair before, but these tend to be minbets intended to "see where they're at."
