V is 23 / 17 / 9 over 900 hands.

Normally I would just be calling a raise here but I have posted similar hands in the past and it seems like the overwhelming response is to reraise on the flop.

Yatahay Network - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 259.6 BB
SB: 99 BB
BB: 57.6 BB
UTG: 176.2 BB
Hero (CO): 100 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has A A

UTG calls 1 BB, Hero raises to 4 BB, BTN calls 4 BB, fold, fold, UTG calls 3 BB

Flop: (13.4 BB, 3 players) 6 9 T
UTG checks, Hero bets 4.6 BB, BTN raises to 15.6 BB, fold, Hero raises to 96 BB and is all-in, BTN calls 80.4 BB

Turn: (205.4 BB, 2 players) K

River: (205.4 BB, 2 players) 3

You had a similar hand that was MW, where the raiser re-raised into 2 people on the flop on a semi-coordinated board? The advice was the shove? When you bet the flop, draws are incentivized to call MW, not raise, since they can get easily priced in. If this was HU's, it would be a bit different.

I'd just call, and evaluate turn.

I'd rather call. Not a good spot.

I think the idea is that if we are ahead there will be a lot of bad cards. When we are behind there are very few cards that give us the lead, yet our hand is too strong to fold. So get the money in while we have the highest chance of being ahead.

Those are reasons to call and not punt a stack with a bluffcatcher on an unfavorable board in an underbluffed line where no one is folding to a jam, and you get it in with 2-10% equity when called.

Of course... but there's a significant difference in someone's range when it's MW and they raise into 2 people, vs HU's. Hu's and ~100bbs stack in this spot, ok, sure there's times it can make sense (I'd prefer the flop be 2 tone at least though). I think a rainbow flop though warrants a call more than shoving. But regardless, in this specific spot, your opponents range is much stronger when they raise because it's MW, and draws want to build pots, not push people out.

this applies for low SPR scenarios, u can’t stack off with one pair in a single raised pot especially multiway. you’ll probably have ~20% equity at best when you’re called here.

Maybe slightly bigger otf to target the fish. You get same calls even if you bet bigger.

Jam is pretty big blunder.
