Hi all,

excuse the ignorance, as I usually do not play NLH cash, and much less so deep.

I was around 250bb in MP in a 9 handed table, UTG+1 opens 3bb, UTG+2 min raises, I raise big to 22bb with QQ, foldsback to initial raiser (UTG+1) who min raises (so i think it must have been 44bb from him and with everything else in the pot probably around 70bb currently in the pot). He was a bit shorter than 200bb.

I decided to rip it in. He showed up with AA.

So the question is, was this completely wrong? I understand from a GTO perspective one should play in a more eloquent way, but just from a "how often does he have AA / KK" perspective, was this a huge mistake? Was the min re-raise a tell he must have AA, since he is basically inviting me in? Or is this mixed between TT - AA and AK?

I think folding is out of the question, set mining with QQ feels wrong and just reraising again is very awkward.

Would appreciate some input as it seems i am missing some basic game play.

I think shove is the worst option in this scenario. We can call by pot odds and play postflop.

Also, I did consider folding in these positions, especially in 9-max, where the UTG+1 range should be very tight.

Agree, shoving is overplayed (especially in these positions). Call is an option if you can navigate this hand postflop (set mining doesnt do the job).

thank you both!

I also think set mining is not ok, maybe if we assume he always stacks off and we get payed when Q hits, and even then the math doesn't add up.

It just seems such a shame to fold QQ, but i think this is the play especially at low stakes and without much postflop edge.
