Hey guys,

This is villains first donk of the match, and i was wondering if i played this ok? Pre flop was a misclick btw

Previous hand included this which makes me think they are a bit of a station

No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (2 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($65.85)
Hero (BB) ($50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K, Q
SB bets $1.25, Hero raises $4.50, SB calls $3.50

Flop: ($10) J, 4, 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $6, SB calls $6

Turn: ($22) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $14, SB calls $14

River: ($50) 7 (2 players)
Hero checks, SB checks

Total pot: $50

Results:
SB had 4, 5 (one pair, fours).
Hero had K, Q (high card, King).
Outcome: SB won $49.50

So far villain is 68sb/69bb/18% 3 bet and seems a bit fishy

No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (2 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

BB ($91.35)
Hero (SB) ($51.40)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, 4
Hero bets $1.25, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3) 4, J, 10 (2 players)
BB bets $2, Hero raises $6.50, BB calls $4.50

Turn: ($16) 7 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $12, BB raises $25, Hero folds

Total pot: $40

What's the purpose of raising the flop? surely his calling range has a ton of equity and he only folds when u beat him anyway. i'd check behind turn as he won't call much on the flop that he can fold on the turn.

as played: good fold

edit: him being a station should make u less inclined to play the hand this way as he'll fold even less often

the first hand im talking about.

raise more preflop, cbet once, then the board gets bad so I would perhaps not contiue on turn without anything

There is no sense in betting the turn

I'm ok with your raise on the flop. It's a sort of semi-bluff w/ outs & backdoors. But you have to check this blank turn especially vs this vilain which is a station as you explained.
Turn: I would bet on a 4 and Q+ (ie. turns where your equity or FE is improved). I'm not sure about betting on a Q though.. and unsure of what I would do on a

River is certainly a fold if he donk again and your hand is unimproved.

preflop was a misclick. I think you will see a lot of folds on the turn here? I didnt have the read at this point he was a station

What do others think?

I think the flop raise isn't optimal here as his fd's and any pair+draw would continue. Not a good turn to barrel, it improves his range 89 gets there, and now any pair+draw would be even more likely call.

I was wondering what your thought process was for thinking that you would see alot of folds here on the turn?

You can pretty much tell what a donk bet means by studying FLOP texture and amount.

a JTx suited board hits a huge range of hands.Theres no reason here to raise a donk when our equity is so bad(especially vs. someone who cant fold).Pretty much half the deck is bad for us on the turn.

Fold flop donk here.Raise his donk when we have better FE and better Pot Equity.
