sure, you make him fold some combos of stuff that don't win very often vs your range and might put more money in. but there are many, many other factors in play and being able to simultaneously consider these factors and form appropriate strategies is what makes a good poker player.
If dumb it down to that, you miss out on some extra value in situations. You can't simply judge the hand, HEY I WON SO I MUST OF PLAYED IT CORRECTLY.
